Yesterday, I was running errands using the trike for transport. At the first stop, I realized I had forgotten my keys and cell phone. It kinda chapped my behind, because I didn't want to go back home to get the keys to lock the motorcycle. Instead, I left the trike in reverse (Champion mechanical reverse) when I parked, with the hope that if somebody actually tried to steal the trike, the thief would not be familiar with the reverse setup, and just continuously stall the trike trying to leave in first gear. It worked!
I know, I'm lazy and should have returned home for the keys, but this worked in a pinch, and I'm thinking of adding this to my regular parking routine as an added deterrent, along with the fork lock, ignition lock and HD anti-theft system. Does anyone else do this, or is it overkill and a problem waiting to happen?
