NE TrikeTalk.com/TOI Rally:
August 24 (Friday night) - August 26 (Sunday), 2012

Host Motel:
Super 8 Motel
358 Main St
Sturbridge, MA 01566,
Ph 508-347-9000

Dates Corrected August 25 (and 26th?) - My personal hope is for a group ride one day, and a cookout/social gathering the other day - thoughts???

First, I'd like to get a "rough" head count, so we can decide where we're holding our gathering this year.

Please let us know:

1) How many in your group
2) Attending 1 day or 2 days
3) Accomodation preference - hotel/motel or camping (sorry, we aren't large enough or organized enough to arrange discounts - YET! ;))

Hi Cheri,
Hope to hear more about your New England rally when I see you in Maggie Valley....you may get quite a few intrested in going.......see you soon. That would be a nice trip from Maryland.........

Me & Mrs. Bozo are probably a go for 2 days. While I like camping, I don't think I will talk her into it. So hotel is best option (need fridge for her meds anyways).

Jeannette and I would like to go both days. Had my fractured right shoulder repaired 1.5 weeks ago. Hope to be in good shape in 3 months. If not, we can go in our cage. We will stay in a motel. Thanks!

The date will be 8 - 24 & 25 ?? Deb & I will be there . looks like were at 16 allready maybe we can hit 30 ?

Will definitely consider going. Made lots of plans for the summer and money is always tight but maybe we can squeeze it in. If so, there would be 2 of us.

Honey and I of course. If I take the trailer we could stay over night.
Ok how about we make a list. Hard to count otherwise.
I think I started one back a few post.
copy the list , paste it to your post and add names and sizes
If there is not a huge response and I can get them for cheap enough ( also need logo permission ) I may be able to cover it.
Looking into raffle prizes like the last 2 rally's and 1 or maybe 2 trophies.

Honey and John 1 small 1 med.

Seatec and Kerr - more details will be posted within the next couple of weeks as details are firmed up. Right now, we're trying to get a rough idea of how many to expect, so we can determine the best place to start.

At the moment, the plan is for August 24 & 25, "based" in the Palmer/Belchertown area of Mass. (a little west of Sturbridge); we're hoping for a short ride and cookout/socializing one day, with hopefully a longer ride the other day, the order yet to be determined.

Love to be there on Friday, but wife still working and vacation time is very tight, BUT, we will be there late Friday night and stay through Sunday. I hope this helps in the planning stages for the rally.
Will you be posting Motel/Hotel info later on when closer to date?
Thanks for the info.

Cheri, I assume you actually mean August 25 & 26. Sat & Sun.

Bikerbozo,
Have you heard from Cheri about the actual dates? Is it Friday-Saturday-Sunday or Saturday-Sunday?
If it is Saturday-Sunday, I wouldn't need to make reservations on Friday night late arrival. Well depends on what time the rally takes place, because it will take us a few hours to get there from NH.
Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, thank you - Sat & Sun is what I meant.

Looking more & more like we're going to be based out of Belchertown, MA area. Road Dog might be able to give more info on hotels/motels in the area, and I'll dig online this weekend to see what's nearby for accomodations.

Cheri,
Do you think we have enough people for a block of rooms at a motel/hotel?
I would think they may give you a break on room rates if we have the people who want to stay in a motel/hotel.
That would be nice to get everybody together and swap stories.
Food for thought.

Rosy, great idea but I'm afraid I don't know the area well enough to even recommend hotels/motels. I know the 3 major ones in Sturbridge, and there's one I pass on Rt 20 in Palmer all the time (I'm about 1/2 way between Sturbridge & Palmer), but my location is about half an hour from Belchertown.

I notice Chicopee is only 13 miles from Belchertown. there is a Hampton Inn or Comfort Inn there. Both have breakfast included. Just one idea.

Jonesy has generously agreed to lead a ride, and mentioned Mystic CT as a destination. Does that sound good to everyone?

A ride to Mystic on Sat or Sun? Sunday would be good since it would leave me near the New London Ferry back to LI.

Personally I was hoping for a ride Saturday, then an early cookout on Sunday - I figured that would leave people free to "wander off" whenever they need to on Sunday. But that's just my opinion. I think we should leave it to the group consensus (and of course, the weather! LOL).

I have to agree with Bozo. That would get me closer to home also. Driving that close only to drive all the way back up and have to drive back down again. So we drive up either fri night stay over or drive up Sat morning. Have our BBQ or what ever, trophies, grab bag / raffle , kick tires. If weather is nice on Sun go for th ride to New London have lunch and people can go wher ever. Some can follow
Us back to NY area, the others follow Spirit Dream North , and the NJ southern folk follow Bozo.:)

That would leave us in NH with a 3+ hour ride back to NH & some, like my wife has to work in the morning. so if we get to Mystic at about 2PM to 3PM and hang for an hour then it would be 7PM+ by the time we get home barring any delays. Again, everything depends on the weather, if it is storming, then heading home would be top priority, I would think.
Like John says, some it would be closer to home, but others it would be further.
I would think a ride Saturday afternoon would be the ticket, then back to a meeting place to swap stories. Sunday we can chill for the morning and leave for home, when we get ready. Some may go to a place closer to home, South, for a ride, while the Northern group ride towards a place closer to home. Have two destinations planned, one South, the other North for the rides on Sunday, this way, everybody will be getting closer to home as we ride on Sunday.
Food for thought!

Sounds like a plan . I would not want any one to be hung out to far from home. My wife has to be in bed by 9:30 Sunday.

NYTriker & myself will be heading back to South of Buffalo,N.Y. on Sunday so we'll probably have the longest ride back. Hope we don't have to deal with another Hurricane this year. I imagine we'll talk about it @ Longshots in Lake George Saturday......

Forgot to mention previously. I will probably be riding up Friday afternoon to make it a little easier on my wife. So if anybody wants to meet up Friday night, whatever town we end up in, let me know. I plan on Port Jeff to Bridgeport ferry.
