Called Zook and ordered his TriGlide triple tree - had my local dealer install it (not cheap by the way;)) - so now I've got about $1500 into everything without even trying it! Just got my Tri back last nite and took it for a little ride (ND doesn't have many curves so it took me a while to find some).

Hmmmmm......darn close to power steering I must admit! Takes less effort to do curves and general turning seems easier as well. No wobble at normal speed and it doesn't seem to be overly "touchy" at normal speed (not highway speed).

Going to take it out for a longer highway ride today and see how it handles at Interstate speeds.

So far I'm thinking it was well worth the $$ but the ultimate test will come when we go to Red Lodge (Beartooth) and the Black Hills in July. I'll know for sure then b/c it's one curve after another not to mention the 5mph switchbacks!!

Thanks Zook - so far so good!!!!:clapping:

I'm glad to hear you're liking the TriGlide rake kit, but I have to ask, how much did they charge you to install it, like $750?

Yup, kinda spendy!

They originally quoted me somewhere around $600 - it came to $695. So it was a spendy enhancement:). Took it out on the Interstate yesterday and all was fine. The front end seems "lighter" at high speed (80+) but no wobble. There is no question that it does turn easier but my turns are not quite as tight as they were before (seems the radius it greater). I'm looking forward to the mountains to see what it really does and how much of a felt difference it actually makes for me. I'll let you know!

TriGlide Rake Kit From Zook

Moving this to the top...good info on raking your TriGlide with my rake kits from owners who have.

If a person has installed handlebars successfully would this job be possible for DIY? How much more involved is it and are special tools required?

Thanks,

Kurt

Its doable and there are no special tools required. If you have any questions on the install, feel free to call or text me and I can walk you through it every step of the way.

When I had my Goldwing Trike I rode it for awhile without a rake kit. I ordered a raked triple tree from Zook and installed it my self. Was quite a job on the Goldwing but easily a DYI (be sure and have a service manual for your bike) job. I had no problems but I took my time. Was well worth the effort as it was a big improvement in the steering effort on the Goldwing. The triple tree I got from Zook was top quality.

I am putting this on my list of upgrades for next winter along with cams. Am completing my stage one and have a priority to get Love Jugs before the hot weather hits. Gotta do it a little at a time.
