I'm in the market for a shop manual, but until I get one, I need a little help. Have an '08 Wing, level 2 RoadSmith trike. Trike is a year old.

I'm going to install Hyperlite turn, brake & running lights, so I can't use the trailer wiring bundle, as brake & turn are one in the same.

What is the brake, turn, & ground wire color code under the seat?

And it seems like a dumb question, but how do I get the seat off?

Thanks,

First, there are no dumb questions! ;)

I can't help you with the color codes as I'm as I'm at work now and my manual is at home.

To remove the seat is easy. First you have to remove the passenger backrest. Open your top trunk and you'll see two screws (wish I had a picture) that secure the backrest to the trunk. Remove them and then just lift/slide the backrest up.

Now you remove the passenger handles on each side of the seat itself. (two screws for each handle recessed at the bottom of the handle) Once those handles are removed, lift the back end of the seat and slightly slide it backwards.

I'm sure others will chime in with pictures, color codes and location of the wires you're looking for.

Here is the page from my '06 manual. I expect it is the same for your's. If you follow the wires back from your trailer connector you will find where it joins in with the OEM Honda wiring. These connectors are the ones you are looking for.. Hope that Helps.....
Unless the 08 is made different from the 02, 92, and 84 that I have owned you don't have to take the back rest off to remove the seat. After you remove the four bolts open the trunk so that there is room to raise the back of the seat up and slide it back to clear the front tongue and then remove the seat.

The color codes are Blue - right turn Orange - left turn - Solid green (usually has silver "dots" on it - ground Green with yellow tracer - brake. The bundle on most trikes is typically at the back of the seat almost under the tour pack. It has 5 connectors on it, 2 blue, 2 red, and one that's usually a small white 2 pin which is for the oem license plate light. Hope this helps!

I installed the running/flashing brake/turn signal Hyperlites earlier this year, and it was easier than it first appeared. Instructions that come with the lights are pretty good, and are more clear when you can see the connector under the seat. The connector is gray, and in a black cover just behind the fusebox under the seat.
The ones I got there are the Goldwing 3-way kit with 16 LEDs on each pod.

There is a blue wire looped out of and back into the controller. It wasn't in the packaged instructions, but if you leave that wire as it is the brake lights on the pods will flash until you let off the brakes. I cut the wire according to instructions on the Hyperlite website and taped the ends. They now flash for 5 seconds then go steady when brakes are applied. If I let off and reapply the brakes the cycle starts again. Still gets attention, but not as annoying as a constant flash to the car in back of you at a stop light. Reconnect the ends of the blue wire and you have continous brake flash again on the pods.Last week I added some wire and a switch to the blue wire and ran it down by the battery cover. Now I can reach in and switch it between the 5 second and steady flash modes at will.

Here is a link to the universal instruction for the 3-way kit with 16 LED pods on the Hyperlites site:Hyperlites Flashing led motorcycle brake lights, runing lights, and turn signals
