Posted a few days ago about my trip to Pleasant Hill, LA for a civil war re-enactment of a battle that took place there, but didn't mention one thing that did happen. For several days I had practically no strength in my hands. Using the pointing finger and thumb of either hand, I could not squeeze a clothes pin together. Finally got concerned enough to visit my chiropractor. He said it was a condition called "handlebar palsy" from riding tensed up too long (remember I rode home in the rain) and it would go away in a week to ten days. Never heard of such a thing, but he showed me the article in one of his text books. Sure enough, I am almost back to normal. Just passing this along in case it happens to some of you.

Throttle rocker' for the right side, and a hand rest for the left.. They just snap on the hand grip's I use them on all my bikes for years now, The throttle works so good I hardly use the cruse control.. I don't ride with out them..

+1. I have a similar accessory by Kuryakyn, "Throttle Boss".

Definitely makse for a more comfortable hand rest and control. ThumbUp

ThumbUp,,I've had the boss and their grips on my last four bikes ,,IMO ,best thing made for hand cramps . This trike has my signal lights and chrome grips on the bars and really don't want to change the looks but sure miss the throttle boss .ThumbUp

Learn to ride COMPLETELY RELAXED...yes, I know it's not always an easy thing to master for some Folks...change Your hand position frequently, and learn to be "Rolling Your Throttle" constantly, using the throttle's "free play" (I have a callus on my thumb from this, even though I wear gloves).....ThumbUp This won't affect the actual acceleration of the Trike, but will keep movement in Your hand to aid circulation....Your left hand can be totally taken down on straights, and alternate Your fingers from curled gripping to stretching flat across the Clutch Lever.....practice, practice, practice.....ThumbUp

Working on that. Even in good riding conditions I find myself tensing up and have to make an effort to relax. If the traffic is bad, it gets really difficult. Usually have the bride aboard and I'm always looking out for trouble. Getting better, but THAT ride in the rain was very taxing.

I understand.....it took a while for me to get my Wife acclimated to this when She first started riding Her Own Bikes...don't rush it, just work on it. Being relaxed is the single most important thing to being able to ride long distances comfortably....GOOD LUCK, and remember, there are a lot of Really Experienced Riders at Your disposal here at TRIKE TALK.com willing and ready to answer all of Your questions and help with Ride Techniques....."RIDE-n-ASK".....ThumbUp :)
