my new partner and i have bought another bike ( not a trike this time) in the USA in preparation for another bike ride across/ around the country... the question is... where are we most likely to see wolves in July August time. we have no idea about how easy it is to see wolves. last time in 2013 i saw one wolf in yellowstone NP.

anyone see them regularly???

whats our chances??

Not like Yellowstone.[By Any Means] But if you happen to wander though New Jersey theres a Wolf preserve near the Delaware water gap its called ;
Lakota Wolf Preserve

Hello...well not too many seen around here in our neck of the woods, we mainly have coyote here :AGGHH: But if you happen to be passing through central Texas we a Wolf preserve located near us in Montgomery Tx. It's a Great place to visit and see these magnificent animals up close. I'm sure there's many more like this scattered throughout the country here.I've included the link to check it out info@wolvesofsaintfrancis.org

Even in Yellowstone seeing a wolf is not a given. There are allot of them in the northern part of my state. Never see them.

You come through my area this time let me know. If we are home don't make any motel reservations this time!

wolves

if you want to see wolves go to Fort Nelson BC Canada, rent a quad and go into the bush you will probably see many

There are not enough in the lower 48. You probably have a better percentage at winning a multi state lottery than seeing one. but I hope you do. Our Canadian friend is your best opportunity for seeing one in the wild.

There are approximately 13,135 to 16,635 grey wolves and approximately 90 to 110 red wolves living in the United States. The biggest population of grey wolves is in Alaska, where approximately 7,700 to 11,200 wolves reside, according to the Wolf Conservation Center.

We see 'em all the time here in Idaho.. I have been working in the mountains an hour north of Boise and listened to 2 packs howling back and forth to each other from the yard I was standing in. Homeowner sez they circle his home about every other night. Lots of footprints. My Sister and her husband see 'em all the time near their ranch over by Island Park, and have killed a couple of them. They have lost quite a few Calves to them also, just west of Yellowstone. If you know where to go, you can spot 'em. A couple of summers ago on a ride with my BOB [ Babe On Back ] we were just north of Cambridge and there was a very large black one standing in the meadow 75 feet from the very busy road watching us go by. We also saw a Mountain Lion one day not far from where the wolf was.

You can buy a permit here to wolf hunt here also.

They tell ya what Units you can hunt in, and you can get more than one. We have too many of them now. Some areas go by the 3 S's rule. Shoot,,, Shovel,,,, and Shut Up...

If you come over this way I have a free room for you also..!! Just say when!...

Hmmmm... It occurs to me that the best places to see wolves here are places that you will not want to take your bike. Dusty gravel roads that need a truck, car, or 4 wheeler to get into the back country. But,... Might be able to help ya with that also.. Just an FYI...

thanks all.. i dont think we will be doing much motocross 2 up on a harley lol. but this time we do intend to buy and older reliable car or truck, and a trailer. so we arent limited by what we can carry on a bike. thanks for the kind offers too.. we dont have a plan yet. buying the bike was step 1.. no doubt we will post more on the subject when we know

There is a wolf ranch about 45 miles from me. Several wolves held there in a large outdoor fenced area.
