What type of mileage are you getting on your 2018 and newer front tire.

As I now approach 8,000 miles on my GW/CSC my front tire is showing signs of wear. I probably can get another 2,000 miles out of it on the safe side. Just wondering what others my be getting. I intend to replace it with a Michelin rear tire which worked well on my 2012 GW/CSC.

To answer your question I have 6500 on my new Gen 3 with a CSC kit on it. Probably going to replace the front tire in the Fall. I put a BT-45 on my 2012 Wing several times and had good results. I think the 45 has been replaced with the BT-46. Haven't looked up the difference yet. My Gen 3 is lighter than then my Gen 2 but time will tell what, if anything, that will mean.

Replaced the original front tire at 9700 in March, 2022 with a BT-46 Now has 25,000 and half the tread. Bought another one just to have on hand and it only went up 18 bucks where the Dunlop for the two wheelers are now $496.00 for a pair.

I have just a hair over 15,000 miles on my front tire. I'm planning on changing it in a week or so. It's a good feeling traveling to Sturgis with a new front tire. Rear tires have a little over 30,000

Having my new BT-46 on this week at 26, 000 miles. Still had 3/32 on the tread but thought it might do good to change it out before I haul it down to Fla for 2 months

WOW - that's great milage. I currently have the Avon Trike tire on my Harley CSC conversion. I put it on when the trike had about 9,000 miles on it. The original tire was good - just wanted to run the Avon Trike.

Bike currently have just over 18,000 on it - tire is still in great shape. Still, with all of the Avon tire delays, I have been seriously thinking about the BT-46 for my next replacement.

If I am as lucky as you, I probably will not need one until the 2025 riding season is over. By then, I should have about 27,000 on the bike - so that would give me 18,000 on the tire.

Curious, did you run the BT-46 backwards? I used to run a rear tire backwards on my earlier trike.

I've only used the Avon front tires,.............(and I've had great results) I'm going to try out the B/T's and see if I notice any difference........
I do not beat on my TRIKE, and "brag" on how slow I ride, will ride'n smooth make any difference in the type or brand tire I use???

Ronnie - how many miles on your trike - how many miles on your Avon?

Are you ready to change now - and have you experienced any difficulty is obtaining a new Avon.

Are you planning to run the BT-46 backwards?

I have approx 8,000(ish) miles on my front Avon tire, and it just passed an DOT inspection, so I'll probably use it till the end of the season, and re-place next year..... I haven't been ride'n much this season due to medical reasons, so my poor TRIKE has been sitting in my garage :ROFLMAO: Just yesterday I check'd my mileage for the year 2024 and can you believe this BUT my mileage was exactly 2,024 miles ridden, this season...
I have 76,458 miles on my TRIKE.... the last 20,000 (ish) were after I TRIKED it out. (this is my second AVON tire and I truly like the Avon.... I never tried the BT as of yet (backward mounting ???) I'm not sure or should I say, why B/ward mounting is any better than regular...........

Good wishes is the health department. Yes, I would imagine with just 8,000 on that tire, you should be in great shape.

Regarding mounting the tire backwards, the BT-46 is a rear tire. With the way the treads are, many here will mount it backwards - there is a flatter or more tread in the center.

As I said, I started that when we road Gold Wing trikes back in the early 1990s. The same would apply to when we had a sidecar since the unit no longer leans.

Your can google run rear tire backwards on a trike (or something like that) and get a more technical explanation.

As I understand, this is exactly what Avon did - that's why it is a trike tire. However, they have not been able to produce them lately.
