What Trike Cover Do You Use

Christmas is coming so my family ask me what I want.

I thinking about a cover for my 2012 Golding that will be triked next spring.
What do you riders use and what should I look for.

I have one now that fits it on two wheels, and find I don't use a cover that much except parked
in front of a motel, and when parked for the winter.

Cheers!

We have a Dowco cover that we got used. It has now been on 3 trikes. It is stained, faded and somewhat ratty looking, but it is still completely waterproof, has the bungies to cinch it up when windy, and it seems indestructible. I like it used and shabby - it gives the (false) impression that whatever is under it is also used and shabby, and therefore will be left alone.

If I were to get a new cover, I think I would spring for a Nelson Rigg Trike Cover. They are very nice, and it has a zipper in the back so you can get to the trunks easily after the trike is covered.

Used full covers for years, then decided to switch to a half cover, that was a good move. Easier to handle, takes less room in the trike. Less $ as well, a win win for me.

I use the Tour King 1/2 cover I used when on two wheels. It is light and works. Also folds up into a bag about the size of a beer can. I've never had it blow off and if I remember correctly it's about 3 years old or so and still looks like new. I had a full cover for the bike used it about half dozen times and gave it to my brother in law to get rid of it.

I bought the Nelson Rigg for my trike. Really disappointed to say the least!! Even heavy dew will penetrate the cover and soak the bike. If it rains the only thing the cover is good for is a deterant to prying eyes... Do not leave electronics such as GPS as they will be soaked. Plan on a wet seat. The upside is that the bike is able to be chamoised, so you start out with a clean bike!!

I have the UltraGuard covers for my Trike and cargo trailer.
I have their full and half covers for the Trike, also their dust cover that I use for winter storage as it keeps the dust, etc off it, yet doesn't trap moisture under it.

At home for winter storage use my Lehman full cover. Traveling use "Skinz" half cover..That cover works great but suggest you spray it to help with waterproofing for har d rains..Have yet to find a "WATERPROOF" half cover.

I purchased the Roadsmith cover when I had the bike triked. Tried it once for size and never unpacked since. I only use cover when traveling and for that I use a Tour King half cover. Same thing for ten years on my 1500. Like another poster said it packs about the same size as beer can, is ultralight and helps keep the worst of the weather off the dash and seat. Mainly it keeps prying eyes and fingers out.

Purchased a Roadsmith Full Trike cover, very nice but rarely used. I also use a Half cover most of the time and that's the one I pack most. The R/S cover stays in the ToyHauler..... did use both and a seat cover twice when really bad weather caught us.... hail no problem!!! and plenty of tye downs on the R/S Full..... we even ride in bad weather with our seat protector on for more protection!!! Whatever works I say...... FYI

I buy lots of covers. If it's used only on motel trips they'll probably last forever. If the trike is stored in a garage... same thing. But for those of us that have to leave the bike out in the elements 24-7-365, nothing lasts. UV will do them in very quickly. The best deal I've found is the Cycle Gear BILT 'all weather' cover for the 2-wheelers, and only because they come with a 5 year, no questions asked, over the counter warrantee, and I've already have taken two back for replacement. Rips. I wish they made one for the trike, but so far nothing. It's been less than a year on one for the trike that I bought off eBay, and it's already toast and leaks. The answer? Double cover the trike with a BILT underneath. This will probably come to an end once the trailer/garage is complete. The money saved from not having to buy covers will probably pay for it.... :)

I got a full trike cover 4 or 5 years ago and have used it twice - what a pain. I've considered getting a half cover, but most aren't designed for use with a driver backrest.

Solution? I carry microfiber towels.

I got this one, seems it's on sale now. I don't think you'll find one that says "waterproof", it will say "water resistant". Mine has served me well, even in hard rain, maybe wipe the seat just a bit, or none at all. I only use mine on trips, not it's not in constant use, like in the sun, so I can't speak to that. But for the price, can't go wrong, and slips on so easily compared to the full cover. Comes with stuff bag that fits most anywhere there a small space on the scoot.

Thanks Biker. Looks like what I need so just now ordered one.

Have 4 week long roads trips scheduled this summer and look forward to having a cover for bad weather days.

Unusual but pretty nice is the Days Inn, Sweetwater TN which provides towels to bikers during rainy weather.
