A few weeks ago I "requested" that someone send me some broken Rings-o-fire/w caliper covers.
Well I got a great response and I got 2 sets, one w/o the ROF, and cracked (yaaay!!) and a practically brand new set.

Well I wanted them broken so I could experiment with paint.

As some of you may know my riding handle is "No-chrome" and I wanted to paint these covers flat-textured black.I had great success, better than I could have imagined.. here is a pict. Notice the blackout of the lower areas of the bike. The ring of fire was sanded all over with 200 grit sandpaper. then I hit it with Rust-o-leum Texture paint for plastic, (home depot), as a base coat (2 coats 90 degrees rotation).

Then spot sweep painted it again with Wal-mart truck bed paint, thig gave it a REAL texture. and since the base coat was already black you don't have to use as much. As you can see I got carried away with the effect, and ended up doing the lower cowl, and kick plate. The bottom of the running boards is 3M rubberized undercoating, Then I hit it with the same textured paint (the undercoating was about 2 years old and just needed a color touch-up).
I added another BLUE LED flex stripon the inside of the ROF
This went well with the blue ahlo effect you see in the rear under the trunk.
thanks for those that contributed.

Claude,
It is looking good. Something like I did with mine (not the wheel covers) but the lower, and exhaust guards. Now all you have to do is the frame to break up the lines and have accent.
