Waterproofing

Has anyone made any type of inner fender to keep some of the water from the electrical components? It appears that the least amount of rain will soak the battery and all of the components around it, I wouldn't think that would be a good idea. My thought is to bond and tie 1/8" rubber sheets from the body to the framework to keep as much water out as possible. Am I worrying about things that don't matter or has this been a problem for other people. It also seems like water would be poring out from under the seat and onto the back of riders legs. Someone tell me if I'm barking up the wrong tree, or I'm going to start figuring this out this weekend. This is an adventure kit on a 2012 wing, I can't believe this doesn't have something for this to keep from soaking the electronics, that has to cause problems later on.:gah:

I own a 2005 GL1800 Goldwing and I am the original owner. I have 38,500 miles on the trike and I have had no problems with water. I have ridden in some extremely heavy rain and there have been no ill affects on the machine. I beleive you have nothing to worry about.

Southeast Alaska is a temperate rain forest. We have a saying "if your not willing to ride in the rain, your not going to ride". No problems with the Goldwing. The gauges on the Harley do fog up some.

No Worries...every Gold Wing I've owned, including the Trike has spent days and days, and thousands of miles in "virtual floods"...never an issue.....ThumbUp
