With a open air filter it could be the blowby that comes from the breather ports in the heads are " puking" some extra oil that is suppose to be sucked into the intake. If this is the case there are 3 possible reasons :

1) when the oil change was done it was overfilled. 3 1/2 quarts is what should be put in when the new oil is added. There is ususally around a 1/2 quart in the engine that doesnt drain out. Overfilling it with 4 total quarts can cause the " puking " of oil through the intake

2) Another possible cause if not overfilling with the oil could be your oil pump isnt aligned correctly and its no scavenging properly.

3) One of the O-rings for the air filter backing plate that is between the head ports and the backing plate could be leaking

There are some who are having leaking issue with the Ultra cool cooler. Jagg makes a 10 row that is very reliable and mounts in the same location. Jagg is suppose to be offering a cooler fan that is coming out soon.

I would recommend using Redline 20/60 for summer riding, 20/50 for winter. I personally use Amsoil straight 60 weight during the summer for my 117" in my trike. I have better luck with keeping my engine oil temps down when riding. I average on a 100 degree day crusing solo 195-200 degrees. I also use a Oil Bud oil cooler.

PS, is the Green Turttle still in Mt Airy? I use to live there in Maryland and lived in Mt Airy for about a year before moving down to Damascus. Got tired of the traffic in around Washington

Thanks for the info.I'm having the dealer install vapor filters to catch oil blow by.We'll see how it works. And I'll check the "o" rings also.Batleys h/d dealership is installing my ultra cool,We'll see how it works when I get the trike
back.I had 3 small fans installed behind the factory oil cooler, they gave me a
5 degree drop in oil temp.I'm thinking of straight 60 weight amsoil syn,in the engine.I'll be in the southwest all summer, thats why I'm worried about the heat.Plus I'm pulling a lees-sure lite trailer.
The Green Turtle I beleave is still in Mt airy. I live off penn shop rd,Lou and Joes bar and grill is 1/4 mile away.Great food.
Thanks for the help.
