Valkyrie with a rattle?

I'm looking (at least talking to the guy as he's a ways away) at a Valkyrie Intersate 2-wheeler that I might convert to a trike. The owner said he hasn't pushed selling his bike as "it has a small rattle in the rear end". Since the trike conversion tends to get rid of much of the motorcycle's rear end..I haven't been scared off by this rattle yet.

Any idea what 'the rattle' might be? I sent another email asking more specifics.

if it's an interstate..the rattle is normally the trunk hinges which can be fixed by getting glue on rubber bumpers to put beteen the hinge halves. if it's a standard or tourer. if someone replaced the brake pads and did'nt rebend the spring to put downaward pressure on those pads they will rattle..

Don't know how many miles they have on the Valk but wheel bearing may cause a noise but aren't a problem to replace as long as aluminum hub is still ok. The shaft spindle gear is rarely lubed at tire changes etc. As it needs to be. Triking this bike would probably replace all of this gear. As for a Valkyrie being dependable mines been bulletproof.

Thanks guys..I was sort of thinking a wheel bearing also, but I wanted to check on some common-knowledge 'rattles' that people knew of...particularly ones that remain with the bike once the back end is removed & triked.

The bike has about 20K miles on it.
