I have a i pad with music on I plug it in to the auxiliary plug in the left box, it plays the music into the head phones, but won't play into the speakers, when I put the radio on it plays through the speakers very well, I have the 660 gps system hooked up also, does anyone know why it won't play thru the speakers

Not direct drive audio system Fuzzy.. :D If the source will drive head phones and is making connection then it should be feeding the preamps just fine.

Motorman, We need a bit more information. How do you have the Garmin and iPad hooked up at the same time?

The gps is hooked directly into the bike, the auxiliary plug is on its own I can plug in ear buds to listen to the garmin, or xm radio if I want never heard anything from gps play thru the aux., the system was mounted when I bought the trike, I can run gps and I pad same time, the little auxiliary plug plugs into the iPad and gps automatically turns on I hope that this is enough info

If I understand correctly, then nothing you hook the AUX cable to is working. Is that correct? I would almost bet the other end of the AUX is not connected. Don't take this wrong but you are selecting the AUX input to the audio system aren't you?? :cxtv:

If nothing is working in AUX and you do indeed have it selected. I'd pull the left pocket and see if that cable is plugged into the wire harness. :xszpv::xszpv:

He did say the ipod would come on when plugged into the auk plug. So he is getting power from it or a signal. Therefore I would think it is plugged in under neath.
I would check your plug for the ipod. The auk plug requires a stereo input. Mono may not work properly.
Look at the end of the cable to see if it has one or two black rings on the plug, separation. One ring it's a mono, 2 rings, stereo
I ran into that not long ago. Just wasn't paying enough attention and was doing a lot of scratching me head until I noticed I had a mono plug.

I missed that if the OP meant it that way. I took head phones to mean the iPad head phones - not the bike headsets. Different terminology can sure muddy the understanding.

Gold Rush sorry for the confusion my I pad is charged before I hook it up to the aux plug it's self powered. Now the gps is hard wired into the trike the dealership did that for me, when I play the I pad y if using the headsets plays really great volume, bass all that works it's when I flip to the speaker symbol nothing works, it was suggested that the aux plug might be mono I checked that it's stereo it has the 2 rings on , this is the only time I have a problem with the speakers radio, FL and am and weather band play y through the speakers and or headsets

I appreciate all the time and effort you members have put in to help me solve this mystery right now it looks like I won't be able to blast my rock and roll through the speakers, I guess I'll have to live with that again thanks for all your efforts Joe

No cb but speakers work with the radio

Joesph, it just don't make sense. Once the audio signal is selected it goes to a preamp. The output is sent on to the amp which drives the speakers or a much smaller amp to drive the headsets. If one source makes it to the speakers, all audio should make it.

Please let us know when you solve this mystery! If you don't maybe some day we can hook up and chase some sparke......:xszpv: :xszpv:

I have a queston!

Sort of! when listening to the radio, you can push the radio button to toggle between speaker and headset. I believe the Aux will work the same way. I will try mine latter this morning.

I went out and tried mine. 09 GL1800/Hannigan. Played music on my Galaxy S3, plugged in aux cable in left pocket, selected aux button on audio control panel and was able to toggle audio to speaker or headset with the Speaker/headset control on upper left on on the control panel.
