Some will be familiar with my VW style subaru powered trike with a roof. It seems a long time since Trike talk awarded tweety with trike of the month. Since then several things have happened.
In my quest for a little extra power (as I was towing a heavy trailer/van) I went to adding a supercharger. That had a lot more power from idle upwards but suffered at the pump. Then I fitted a SPFI system, you guys in North America had SPFI on your EA82 engines, but not here at all. So fitted that and wasnt impressed. Just didnt get it running right. I have the earlier EA81
The likely issues was low compression. Anyway just had the engine reconditioned fully, SPFI manifold and weber 38/38. That carbie is synchronic meaning both throats open at the same time all the time. This allows for greater pick up from rest to overcome the drain from the auto transmission.Am running the engine in now.
