Just wondering if any one is having trouble with the transmission fluid going into the primary? Hearing a clunking noise when shifting gears? Also, cooling fans coming on and staying on.

Thats why i got rid of my 17 Tri-Glide.......Oil migration ......And Sumping because if the primary overloading......The clunking noise is a Harley feature and part of the mystique of owning one......That is Semi-normal.....The cooling fans on mine at least...Worked well, And never stayed on long.....

It's under warranty. If your having the problem, take it to your dealer and demand it be fixed.

So Bob, you are saying because of the oil migration filling your primary your engine sumped?

I guess I never heard of that happening like that

The sumping is an internal oil pump to cam plate seal problem as far as I know can you shed some light on this?

Happened Twice.......It felt like i was pulling a tractor pull sled ....The first time i was riding in light rain, And at a red light....Light changed and it felt sluggish in first then i hit second and it wouldn't move faster so i dropped it back into first, till it started to pull again...Second time a month or so latter same thing , But no rain.... I just shrugged off..:Shrug:.....And just last week i was at the dealer [He still hasn't sold my 17] and he said yes that can happen when/if the primary gets over loaded from all the trans oil pumped in it ...

And theres a lot of talk about that on Harley forums...
