It looks like TRI has bit the dust. Bob Larsen resigned as head of the organization at the closing ceremonies in Branson, MO earlier this summer and I am told an email will be sent to all members offering a refund of membership dues or the member may choose to have their membership transferred to GWRRA.

TOO BAD Dave,

I say that sincerely,

Even though I was a member for only 2 years. I am grateful for TRI because I have met some terrific people in TRI that Lila and I call family today.

The great thing is everyone is over here at triketalk.

Phoenix will learn its about the members not the $$$.

I used to belong to the GWRRA, but switched to TRI when I triked. I guess I will go back to the GWRRA and also get the trike magazine for $10. I am sorry to see them go....TRI would put a short article about the annual Texas Trike Reunion in Kerrville, TX., even though some our our loose group were not members of TRI. It will be April 14-16, 2011 and all trikes are welcome. See my post under Rallies....for info email me. scoot62@aol.com

I posted this on another forum. I was in Branson this summer when Bob Larsen announced he was stepping down. He was fanstastic, but not irreplacable so I guess its more about money then finding a replacement.

I too have benefited from TRI and am a GWRRA member. Will extend my membership.

Me too!!!

I can hardley wait to ride the Harley to Daytona with a big GWRRA patch on the back of my vest.

The guys down at the Boot Hill Saloon will surely get a kick out of it too.

Joe : will this effect the rally in Hannibal in June ? please let us know ! thanks hope all is well with you .. Charlie D & Marietta

Dave: does that mean I have to put a GWRRA patch on my stallion shirt or my Harley Jacket? Just about money Charlie D.

As you all know we have been organizing our own ride club/association for a while now and already have several chapters being organized as we speak, in Texas, NJ, Ohio, Florida, Alabama and a couple internationally. If you are interested in starting a TrikeTalk based chapter near you please contact Nana or myself. With 3500 members over all 50 states and 14 countries we have a great family.

Loner here California State director for Brothers of the Third Wheel. ALL are welcome here. As is ALL are welcome to Trike Talk. I have not found many members of Trike Talk in Cal. so far. I would really like to see someone start a chapter over here. At least to meet and greet sometime. And maby work together with us.

Yeah we've been working on this for a while JJ. We started talking about it at TTR3. We have quiet a few chapter directors lined up and just getting our documentation, member support, etc together. Thats why I was a little surprised when you announced it here.

I'm the head weenie for the TRI chapter in Maryland. So far the membership is leaning in the direction of pulling the plug on participating in the TRI/GWRRA transition and making a go of it as an independant group. We haven't decided if we want to affiliate ourselves with another organization but we'd be interested in seeing what the Trike Talk association has to offer. How about passing that information to me also.

TRI basically killed itself. My wife and I were/are members (mostly for the magazine and road side assistance). I also used to be the webmaster and she helped organize one of the national rallys. It was plagued by lack of communication and lack of leadership. When i ran the websites I was told I could do things one way and after I did it then I was told to change it. more than once, finally I got fed up and quit. Then they decided they would hold the national rallys repeatedly in Branson MO,conveniently near the homes of many of the TRI officers.
While they had many chapters listed on the website most of the were already defunct.
I dont see to many non GW rides remaining as members under GWRRA.

I'm actually surprised they lasted as long as they did.

just my two cents
