Trike Mid Step

To those that talk about ‘crazy money’, I’m guessing most of y’all spent $35K plus on your trike. $500 ain’t that much to pay to make your trike more accessible to you or a family member. Especially for a family member.

Just sayin’

Scott, no offense intended, you you need them for yourself or for a family member they are worth the price or more, but as with most things they are way overpriced. At some point I may need them and will have to spend the price.

I intended no offense either. I was literally...

I made my own mount and order floorboards from JP cycles for 50.00. When I got done I had about 75.00 in everything. I used square tubing and machined a plug to go in to the square that the floorboard mounts to. They make it easy to get on and off.:clapping:
please show us your design .

Please share info.

Would you share a link to the rear floor boards on JP Cycles for $50.00 please. I can't find the actual floorboards for anywhere near that on there site. I found some covers for around that price. Not saying they aren't there, I just couldn't find them. Can you post some pictures of the floor boards and you mount you made?

I have been out of town. I will have to take some pics not sure how to post them but i try. J&P Cycles Part Number: 5500000$49.99

Longbeard71, do you have any pictures of the main part of the support and how it is attached to the frame? Is it just one piece of 1 inch square tubing?

I milled slotted holes in the square and used stainless steel ubolts around frame. I put some gussets in at the 90 degree turn for strength. Mine is a 2011 so no brake pedal but there is room to move the mount toward the back more. You would need to measure to see if it would clear. I have made two of these one for my 2011 and a 2012 works good for me they could be made taller mine is level with front floorboard. It makes it very easy to get on and off.

Thanks.

OK, one more request. If you don't mind could you jack it up, take the entire unit off and take some pictures? :D:clapping:

Well just messing with you, but did you take any pictures of it after you made it but before you mounted it? Thanks.

Here are a few pictures of a mid-step that I made. It is made from 1" X .125 wall square tubing. Had no way to bend it, so I made two 45* angles. Floor boards are patterned after a set of Cobra Floor boards made for a Kawasaki VN800 They are cut down 2" made from 1/2" aluminum. Pardon the pictures of being upside down. They are not like that on my computer.
