I have a Paughco trike kit (installed locally) and would like to use my almost new V&H 4" slash cut classic mufflers from my 2007 EG Classic on the new trike (1993 Tour Glide Classic Ultra). The problem is the trike conversion exhaust pipes has an "S" bend that lowers the mufflers to clear the solid axle. This shortens the overall length of the converted mufflers to the rear of the trike which is why Paughco and others use shorter mufflers. The V&H mufflers are about 10" longer which would put the mufflers out the rear too far; I'd need to hang red flags on 'em so drivers are aware
.
Getting rid of the "S" bend pipe and coming straight down from the header pipe and then a short 90 degree or so bend to rear would bring the V&H mufflers slipping on at about the original location prior to the trike conversion and then be able to clear the solid axle. Am I making any freakin sense?
Anyone ever try this? The mufflers from the conversion have a small diameter and the V&H, with the 4" diameter opening, would look much better than two little pipes sticking out.
See pics for the "S" bend pipe of the conversion.
Thanks guys!
