Does anyone have any good ideas on triglide seats besides stock Harley seat ? I think mine sucks !!! Rough ride !! Any better Harley seats ? Gell pad ? Welcome any good suggestions. Thanks,Lou

I just ordered a sheep skin gel seat pad from American Motorcycle Specialties paid 127.00 including shipping. Can't afford $450.00 for a new seat.

I hate the harley seat too. However, i use an AirHawk R air cushion seat pad and that has worked very well for me comfort-wise, even in the heat!

I took the stock seat and had gel put in front and back. Its harder but comfortable. Got $550 in it. Also had the guy put Gater skin in the middle and Osterich on the outside. Works for me.

Changed mine to a Corbin seat, was going to buy a Mustang, but when I called Mustang The man that answered the phone told me they were not going to make a seat for the TRiGlide and never will. This was when I bought the 2009. Missed a sale.

just sent my stock seat out to mean city cycles. they are doing double memory foam, tail bone relief and gonna lower it an inch, for 150. if you go to their website they have many options. ill have the seat back next week, looking forward to a more comfortable ride

Put Hammock on last August before heading to Sturgis. Total trip from Okeechobee Florida to Sturgis down to Pikes Peak and back home 6800 miles in 2 weeks with no complaints. Excellent seat

The stitching on my 2009 stock seat started failing. Good thing I hated it anyway. I went with the Mustang and the wifee and I love it! We sit about a half inch lower on the Mustang. That works perfect because on long rides I use the Airhawk witch puts me back to the stock seat height. ThumbUp

Both my Buddy/I bought the Hammock seat and while costly, we both really like them. We make some long trips and with a full day in the saddle feel like it DOES make a difference - we rarely have a passanger so can't comment on that portion. If you can swing it, definitely go for it.

Harleys Road Zepplin seat is the ONLY way to fly. No addon air cushions, water cushions or gel cushions - no cutting of the foam or reshaping. Nothing but pure heaven. After 200/300 miles just push a button or two and have a completely new seat with different pressure points(which is the problem with static seats no matter how well they're made). Heck, even a LazyBoy gets tiring after awhile.

Nice thing about the RZ seat is it's a perfect fit right out of the box. Not like buying an aftermarket static seat that you hope will be comfortable after hundreds of miles in one sitting(which you don't know until you do hundreds of miles - in which case you can't return it) and then have to do the same thing again with another seat.
An aftermarket, off the shelf seat(which most seats are) will not be as comfortable as a custom made seat made for just your specifics only.

Nearly 24,000 on my RDL and it's still perfect, including 7,700 mile cross-country trek. Seat was absolutely stellar on the several 500-620 mile days, day after day after day. Will be doing a IBAA Bunburner 1000 in the next couple months and I'm not the least bit worried if it will be up to the task. Here's a couple pix from when it was on my first TG, now on Big Blue.

We just got a new TriGlide then headed to Sturgis with the stock seat. I will say this is about the best stock seat I have had but about 60 to 100 miles is about all you can stand. Luckily I kept the almost new heated Hammock seat from my 2011 RGU and it is now on the TriGlide. You can feel the difference right away but I have not done a all day test yet. The picture shows the heated Hammock seat on the bike.t

I updated this post after taking a 4 day trip on the TriGlide with the hammock Seat. The seat is better than stock and the heated feature was great but "I"was still lucky to get about 30 more miles of comfort compared to stock. We are leaning towards selling the hammock seat and getting a Mustang Heated seat.

TheBobs, if I didn't have the RZ seat, the RDL seat is what I would have. It is one of the custom made seats going way back to the '70's and have to purchase from the mfg. Not like the off the shelf seats like LaPera, Mustang, and other seats.
There was another custom seat maker back then also(and I think you even had to go to their shop to get fitted), but I can't remember their name or if they're still in buisness. I should dig out one of my old issues (1970's) of Rider or Road Rider magazine and look for the ads. :)

The only issue I have is, the RLD seat is the same price as the RZ if not more. Otherwise it is a great seat.

Yours looks nice too. ThumbUp

Been looking at getting the Russell Day Long for quite awhile now. Expensive seat, but isn't our buttocks worth it? lol

Also you will find complaints on almost any seat, but I have yet to hear one about the RDL (outside of price). Alot of the Iron Butt guys swear by em.

You're right about our cheeks being worth the cost. I just like the idea that I can change the pressure points when they pop up and get a whole new comfort setting. Even the RDL will eventually produce a pressure point at some time. The RZ can eliminate that. ThumbUp

For about $800 I got leather where I sit, heavy duty spring support for me, regular spring for the passenger, and drive in service. So it's actually comparable to any luxury seat out there and it's custom fit and custom made. I was amazed at how they fashion the seat. My wife and I got to see how our seat was made at each step. Even though we did the drive in service, they still took pix of us just like the mail in folk have to do, so the picture requirement is no BS. I couldn't begin to count the hundreds of thank you emails and customer pix they had posted in the office/waiting areas. They had customer pix all over the assembly area too. It's basically a Ma and Pa operation. They offered to loan us a vehicle since they didnt have a loaner seat for us, so we could do some sight seeing, they helped arrange our lodging since we had to drive 8 hours to get there. Bottom line, they are a stellar company and produce a stellar product worthy of the cost. 'Nuff said!

Gary, we've had this conversation before. You know I've owned both. Between the two, I actually developed pressure points on the Zep before the RDL. I can't explain why, but that's my experience. If I didn't have a RDL, I wouldn't own anything other than a Zep!!

Interesting, The stock Tri Glide seat is the same seat that's on a Harley Ultra Classic and Classic. I actually put the stock one off my old 08 Ultra on my Tri Glide just to see and it fit perfict.
I have the Harley Hammock on my Tri Glide. Better than the stock seat. A few weeks ago I made a trip from Omaha NE to Peoria IL. 840 miles round trip in one day. Took me a little over 15 Hours. Whith the hammock seat I was comfortable all the way. I sure wouldn't have been comfortable all that way on the stock seat.

After 2 years of procrastinating I finally broke down and got a RZ last week...WOW what a difference. I know they are expensive but they are well worth it....I wish I would have gotten one 2 years ago.... I agree GaryD the RZ is the only way to go....pepperpepperpepper
