Yes… I was busy this past weekend! Lol!

I also installed the R.J.S. Originals Tri Glide Rear Fenders welting kit and looks great!!!
Thank you again @RJschoonover !!

As we were discussing the stainless rear wheel disks, I was out in the garage when he was telling me about the rear fender welting kit that he also makes. I looked in between my fenders and body tub, and sure enough, I saw debris in there too.

What I personally like about these is they are gloss black, custom cut and strategically designed to slip down and in between our fenders and the bolts that hold them on…and these should last for many years!

Lastly: as with all of R.J.S. originals products: these are made in the USA 🇺🇸 and supports a great guy!

A couple pics:

and yes… since I had my phone out, I also did a video on these too!
I hope the videos I post helps anyone get a better visual, and also show the great results.
Definitely a great idea and helps protect the paint in that crevice and will make future cleaning a LOT easier there!

Looks good. FWIW, I went to their website to check out the product and the price but can't get past the splash page. I receive a 404 error. :-(

Awesome! This is something I’ve thought about since getting the trike. Never understood why there wasn’t anything in the first place! I too wasn’t able to get past the error screen. Guess I’ll have to call him for price. I really would like to see all of the products offered.

Thank you for the video. I really like the looks, much cleaner! I’ll look into a set for my Freewheeler.

Thanks for the post, I ordered a set for my 2023 Triglide today.

I also used fender beading on my RG3 conversion to Triglide trunk. Needed this to help make the
transition from RG3 fender to Triglide trunk a little nicer. Bought the beading from Jbugs, oem Volkswagon beading for about $14.41 at the time. Enough to install at least 3 or 4 times. Jbug_fender_beading.jpgJbug_fenderbeadingInstalled.jpgJbug_fenderbeadingInstalled2.jpg

Just wanted to make mention of the reason for the welting kit. The picture displayed is actually taken of a 2009 Tri-Glide. Which was only 2 months old back in 2009. The roads around here are white gravel. I had to make this rider fender skirts and when I removed the fender. I got to see 1st hand at the poor craftsmanship HD did when mounting the painted fender to the trikes painted body. Down at the bottom is the only place the motor company placed any padding or buffer. Which is a joke in my book, but if they didn't do this kind of poor craftsmanship, I wouldn't be in the business and I have now since 1999. In the video of the installation of the welting kit, too bad the fender wasn't removed. There you would see all the road grit and grime that gets trapped between the fender and the trike body. I had airbrushed and painted in my time for 27 years and and I would Never ever mount two painted surfaces together. But here's your proof of the factory's negligence.

Bob,
Wow! That is pretty bad!

To add to that, the main reason I added your kit is helping to protect my custom paint job.
There are two parts (body tub vs fenders) that will still rub/vibrate against each other, no matter how tight one makes the bolts. This kit will help all of that and create a nice tight cushioned seal too.

Granted, you don’t see that further down in between, (nor any worry of rusting), but it’s very possible to start getting paint damage and a possibility that it may start lifting paint coming up if it’s bad enough.

Furthermore, even when washing or quick detailing, any crud in that crevice can lift onto a microfiber cloth, for example, and then it’s trapped in that detailing cloth and possible damage and scratches anywhere else that cloth is rubbed over the Trike.

So not only does it look great…. There are quite a few benefits with your welting kit too!
