I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this. If not I will re-post in another forum. I am thinking about getting a trailer so I can get to destination faster and spend more time riding. The question is where to park the truck and trailer if we decide to take a 3 day adventure. Does airport parking allow for this kind of situation? I would hate to just leave it at a hotel. What do some of you do?
Thanks?

We have trailered our trike to Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Minnesota in the past and left the truck and trailer parked in motel parking lots while staying there with no problems. I always tried to park them where they were visible from the office of the motel. I always padlock the trailer to the truck just as a precaution, at least it keeps the honest people honest. There are also campgrounds that have cabins that you can rent and use as a base camp for exploring on the trike if you like.
I've gotten help from others on this forum on places to stay when I'm interested in a particular area. Best of luck to you.

Dave is correct. I also have trailed to Iowa, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma and always left my rig at the motel.. Stay out of large cities! Most motels are very agreeable to having you part there, especially if you ASK if it is okay.. I've never had a problem. Lock it up, secure it and park it where it is visible and you will most probably to fine. ;) Good riding, and happy trails.

And I've usually left them at the motel for at least 2 weeks

Wow, I did'nt know that. Good advice on staying out of the big cities. I try to do that anyway.
Thank You!

I think if you are going to be leaving the PU / trailer parked for more than a "day's ride" .... like several .... make sure the location desired is perfectly OK with the motel / hotel management ..... and it likely would go a long way towards winning that approval if there were a night or two worth of reservation after the ride.

I'd likely plan my trip so that I'd be back to whichever motel it is I'm wanting to park at each night .... but that's just me. Not likely to tow for two days to park at a strange motel while I ride two more.

Yeah, I agree on staying out of big cities .... and I tend to avoid heavily traveled interstates as well. I like old style motels where I have a door to outside.

My buddies go to Daytona every year from Chicago. They trailer down to Atlanta, park their truck and trailer in an RV storage facility. Pay the storage place $50.00 to store their stuff for a week.

Not having ever trailered before the suggestions of leaving it in a motel parking lot sounds good.

I like to use the park and fly facilities which are a lot cheaper then paying for motel room you are not going to sleep in if you are planning several days. In some cities they have sheltered spaces available also. this way the only people allowed in are other paying parkers.

I'm probably old fashioned but I will check hotels on the internet sites, but always call the hotel direct to make reservations and I always ask up front about truck/trailer parking. If they have an issue, I don't stay there. I park where they request and I use several different types of locks to secure my equipment. I know if the bad guys want it the will get it, but I try to make it "too much work" and hope they move on to an easier target. I also always make sure my insurance is paid up!
Good luck to you.
