Tour pack gasket

I read somewhere a fix for the chaffing which occurs of the Honda tour pach, GL1800, it needs repainting, but decided to correct issues before painting. I have always had some chaffing arounf the top edge of the pach, but when carrying a bag on the luggage the vibration is worse causeing more rubbing. Somewhere I read about inserting rubber tubing into the stock gashet to add a lift and support to the loaded top. Now I can't find it.

Hate to spend a day at Home Depot looking at tubing, anyone remember which tubing was used (inserted into the existing gasket. Getting ready for the ride of a lifetime and home to prevent any further damage.

Thanks so much for any information.

Dan you want aquarium air line. I believe it's 3/16 or 1/4 inch and YES it does help a lot.

There is a slit in the OEM gasket toward the front. Slip the air line tube in there and start feeding it around. If you squirt spray silicone lube in a few times the air line will find it's way all the way around. If you don't it will be a fight.
