Has anyone purchased the tour pac aligner from the 2013 HD bible?
Part # 53000195
I ordered one, but am just curious whats involved in the install and how it works!!
Comments?

One of the first accessories I picked up...easy install...might want a third hand to catch the latch when you remove 2nd screw...5 minute install...I didn't do it but you might want to trim the liner since the catch is a little wider than stock, but works fine without doing this...Hope that helps.

Gary, it really does help - works on any Harley Tour Pak. I guess if you don't have the problem, then you probably don't need it, but it's one of the few CHEAP upgrades you can do yourself. I think the retractable tether is a more useful upgrade, at least in my case.

I agree about the retractable tether - I love mine, but with so many people complaining about it I'm so paranoid I check it top to bottom every time I open the box. I have been pretty rough with it in the past - now I carefully open/close it. :D

Aligner works perfect...Very cheap easy to install good upgrade..Should have bin a factory installed part tho...Also looked at my retractable tehether...looks weak at bottom end, frayed..gonna re install the oem one..Ths 4 the heads up on em guys..HB

Its kinda like McDonalds...Would you like to Super size your order sir , or, Would you like cheese on that sir...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

My question is: Why isn't this a stock part on a $31,000.00+ trike?
R

Harley sells kit bikes, you buy the kit and then build it to your taste from there. If they included these things in their kit they wouldn't be able to pick the purchasers pocket for more $$. At least this is how I've always thought about Harley Davidson.

:Agree: ThumbUp :D

I just installed the aligner. Only problem I had was original latch screws have blue LocTight on them, and one broke off in the latch. I had to buy a new outside latch. It works great.

Both my screws broke, but i was able to warm the outside latch with my lighter to soften the locktight, and removed broken screws with vise grips..Yes, They do work great, especially if ya have some weight atop the lid of the tourpac..Hb
