I went for a ride this afternoon and it was in the upper 80s and the heat coming off of the right side was terrible, I've been thinking that my bike wasn't that bad until today as it's normally a little cooler here. I am going to contact Fuel Moto tomorrow and see if there is anything that will help without removing the cat. We are going to So. Dakota the end of July so something has to be done. Has anybody used the Cobra FI2000 ? it sounds like a good deal, ( if it works as advertised )

I have not and will not remove the head pipe and cat.
I bought the floor board extenders, custom made "crotch coolers" and from Harley I had the SE Fatshotz slip ons, SE A/C, and Race tuner installed.
That's all and I am very happy with the heat issue.
I may have a higher level of heat tolerance then some riders, but the cat doesn't bother me.
I've been riding around in 90* to 100* temps for the last month with no worries.
I'd try the extenders and crotch cooler first before sinking more money in the problem - you may find that's all you need to do. If not then try the other things I did or comperable items.

My bike is stock except for Kerker pipes and a set of XIEDs. Do the Crotch Coolers work that much better than Harley's little plastic version.
The heat problem on the right side of my TGlide never had anything to do with my upper leg. The stock heat deflectors have always worked fine for me, and my "crotch" was never the part of me that needed to be cooled. It was my right calf that got fried before I corrected the problem. As we have discussed on here many times, no two TGides seem to be alike when it comes to heat issues. Some, like mine, need major mods and $$ to cool 'em down. Some fortunately, don't seem to need anything at all to run cooler. One of the really nice side effects of the cooling mods is a hell of a lot more horsepower and a quieter, smoother, more effecient running motor. If you do it right.
Maybe all you need is a crotch cooler. If I had tried one of those to start with, I would have had to figure out a way to wrap it around my leg where it would have done some good instead of sittin' on it. Nothing against the C Cooler of course...Just would not have begun to solve the problem for me. No heat issues now and my crotch is fine also.

I been usind the XIED's too..we been having a hot summer and the bike has not heat problems..If you are stop and go then like any bike it will get hot..
Check out nighrider.com if you want a cheap fix to the heat..All I have is a stage 1 air cleaner and the XIEd's still have the cat..

Mine seems to bother me at times when the wind is coming from a certain angle and then I can mostly change the angle of the vents on the batwing to cool that area.
Sometimes this doesn't help. Then I'll go around a curve etc. and the outside wind will shift a bit and that will work.
Once in a while I'll just start cooking my leg going down a straight hwy with a steady breeze and all I can do is move my leg around to find a cooler spot in the airstream.
I tightened up my lower vents by the pedals and shifter so they would;t close up going down the road . That helps as well. Sometimes I just cook a bit.

Trent, a "crotch cooler" doesn't do anything for your crotch. Why it's called that I don't know. It is a larger piece of leather extending down from the bottom of the seat about 8" to deflect heat comming from the rear cylinder. It works wonders for me.

I would like to be able to remove my lowers because that would really keep me cooler, but I have my woofers in them. Music trumps comfort for me.

Hey Gary...Yeah, I know several guys that have them on their bikes and have checked them out. I just have never had a problem on my thigh. Just my manly chubby calf! Ha Ha!! And I would take the tunes over removing the lowers too! Rode 300 miles yesterday in 98 degree heat... no heat issues at all. It is a good thing when you can finally get the problem fixed.
I have a 2011 TriGlide, my problem with the heat is at low speed in traffic I did put on a PCV that stopped all the pinging. No problems going down road just low speed I don't think there is a cure for that on a air cooled bike.

gbsb, I don't know about that. I was in D.C. for Rolling Thunder and was in stop & go traffic on Constitution Ave for about an hour just to go 3 blocks and I didn't feel uncomfortable with the heat - from the engine, but the air temp(100*) was almost unbearable. Sweated like a pig.
Then last week we went on our chapter ABC's of Touring ride, again lots of stop & go riding in 100* temps. I was still comfortable.

Below the knee = no problem. Above the knee = I had a problem.
