OK - what happens when I'm "subscribed" to something? I see somehow I'm "subscribed to a thread", (I don't know how), but don't know what it is supposed to do, what the "benefit" is, what happens, etc.

Could someone 'splain this to me. (use small words and short sentences) :D

Hard to believe. You have over 1,600 posts and have never subscribed on a posting thread???
When you "subscribe" you will get an email to let you know that someone has posted a reply on that thread, whether you started it or only commented on it.:qpnmt::D

Yup - my 1st subscription - and that was by accident (I guess). Oh, well - never said I was smart...:qpnmt: :D I just always go to "new posts". I frequent the site often, and keep in touch that way.

Anyway, the thread I am mysteriously "subscribed" to has 33 replies and I have zero emails. Perhaps I should have "paid" for my subscription... :D

Guess that makes two of us I have never subscribed to a thread either.Imagine that.RIDE SAFE

OK, here's the scoop. If you're viewing a topic and you want to subscribe (get notices of updates), then click on the gray bar where it shows "Thread Tools", then click "Subscribe to this Thread.."

If you want to see all of the threads you've subscribed to, click on "Settings" at the very top of the web page.

Needless to say, (at the risk of redundancy), you have to be logged in to see these settings.

oh well, might as well own up.. i use this and a couple of other forums and didnt know about subscribing, but i have been subscribed to a few threads without any intention or knowledge on my part. sometimes i get messages saying a thread im subscibed to has a new post, sometimes not. its all a big mystery. i guess i just didnt care enough to find out why.

I check all my forums (6) almost hourly and click on "New" messages. That way I see ALL NEW POSTS without subscribing to anything.

This is new to me also. learn something everydayShift+R improves the quality of this image. Shift+A improves the quality of all images on this page.

That was funny

Go to settings-upper right corner of any page
Scroll down looking at the menus on the left side of the settings page
Click on general settings
There you can set if you want to subscribe to any thread you post on or not
You can set which E-mail notifications you want to get or none.
If you subscribe then you can check those threads by being on the Forum page. Click on Quick Links in the narrow black menu bar and then click on Subscribed Threads in the drop down menu.

Hourly??? You must work in a hospital. I can almost set my watch with them waking me up from deep sleeps every hour to give me a sleeping pill.:qpnmt:
