Today we ride the dragon

Now we are in day 3 and 4 of our trip to Tenn. We will ride the Dragon today. But first we start our 220 mile circle by going across the Foothills Parkway and The Cherohala Skyway. With a side trip to a beautiful water falls. The Rear wheel bearing is getting real bad now. I will have to find a shop to get it repaired tomorrow!

Look on Your Map.....Hwy 321 out of Gatlinburg to Cosby, Tn....right on Hwy 32...Very Twisty (Dragon-ish)...after 14 miles, becomes gravel, then pavement again, and takes You to Cataloochee (Elk Country), then over to Maggie Valley, NC.....some Folks fear gravel, but if not, it's one of the Best, Least Known Rides in the Smokies Area.....ThumbUp

Same Ride, same day, but missed seeing you guys. Beautiful Day, just a few drops of rain, one time. Temperature was down to 69 in higher altitudes,

Be sure to turn off the Cherohala Skyway to the Bald River Falls, just outside Tellico Plains, Tennessee.....THIS is a MUST SEE....also turn onto Scenic, Twisty Hwy 360 outside Tellico Plains, follow it up to 4-Lane Hwy 411, turn right, then right onto Twisty Hwy 72, then right onto Twisty Hwy 129 at the "Punkin' Center"...this takes You to the Foothills Parkway, and eventually becomes "The Dragon" just 3.5 miles later.....ThumbUp

Dragon Ride is one of the best tour and I personally like this type of journey especially bike tour and really impressed with the video and photographs of Foothill Parkway is no doubt that driving is too difficult dragon while traveling .. .

Having lived in the area.There are many roads as good as the Dragon without all of the hype. You just need to get a good map and find them. Try Hwy 39 to Reliance and over to Ocoee. Take the ride up Chilhowee Mtn. to the Forest Service campground. Great chances for taking pictures. After being run off the road by a fisherman pulling his bass boat in my lane around a corner and a close call with log truck,not to mention the idiots on sport bikes riding over their abilities. The Dragon is a ride it once and get the sticker for your trike and the t-shirt. Hwy 129 south to Ga. is another good ride.
