this site needs a gl1500 trike forum

i'm trying bypass the neutral start switch in my '93 gl1500 with a '05 trike kit.

It is probably your clutch switch that either needs cleaning or the pivot point of your clutch lever is worn out. Might need a new lever. It could also be aftermarket grips interfering with lever movement. If it's a Honda, we have a GL1500 site already.

You may only need a pivot point bushing. If that is your problem, the Honda part number is 2285-MBO-006, Cost: $10. However, Suzuki part number 59892-08A00 is $3 and exactly the same part. Check it out.

Which switch are you wanting to bypass? There are 3 in that circuit that come to mind without looking. The only one that could be bypassed that I can think of is the kickstand switch. The clutch or gear position switch would cause other problems if bypassed.

By passing the clutch switch will cause the cruise control to not cancel.

Side stand would be in the up position and that would be normal for starting.

The gear position switch ties into the cruise control and that would be a bad idea.
