Thinking of selling

For the loss in value you would take a hit on the bike and trike you could put a custom paint job and do engine upgrades to one of them.

But like it was first stated its your money and your choice

I'd rather have both 2 wheels and 3, since getting rid of my Triglide and buying the Goldwing I miss riding a trike and can't wait till I have the $$ saved to trike my Wing.

My brother in law bought a 2011 Triglide new. He told me yesterday if he had it to do all over again he would not have purchased it. Besides the purchase price he has put over 8 grand into the thing trying to increase the power, decrease the heat, improve the rake, and change out the handlebars. Harley dealers literally rape customers, ( I know, cause I have an Ultra and have owned 7 of them). After all this money most of the problems still remain. He is in a catch 22.....He doesn't want to keep putting money into it and knows he can never get his money out......Plus, with that solid axle my sister hates to ride any roads that are rough.

8 Grand?? I have right at 1200 bucks in my 2011 to cool it down and run better. (Fuel Moto package with map from them) Could not be happier with the end results. I repeat 8 Grand??:xzqxz:

The CVO Breakout Production has been suspended this year possibly due to paint problems. Should you decide to go the CVO route make sure you can get the bike you want.

Two wordd don't always equal power, those words are Harley Dealer. All I have to do is chat a little with a service manager and I have their number, most are parts changers who don't even understand the parts they are working with. Some of the bastardized builds using SE parts which have no business being used together I've seen leave me shaking my head wondering what were they thinking. I quit letting a dealer be my power broker years ago, now I roll my own using known combinations or I get with folks who specialize in the parts I'm looking to use. For folks who don't or can't wrench there are plenty of good Indy shops out there, you just have to do a little checking around to make sure they have a good rep.

I had come to a cross roads with my 2010 Triglide where I needed to make a decision. One was some of the future problems I saw coming such as compensator was getting ready to go, the stator was starting to leak and I had an electrical gremlin starting to rear its head. I also wanted more power, less noise and an engine more tolerant of traffic jams. Once I rented and put 500 miles on a 2012 Wing I decided to make a move. Sometimes I wish I would have hung on to the Triglide and other times I don't miss it. I do however miss owning a trike, I enjoy traveling on a trike vs 2 wheels. Once I get the scratch together I'll have my trike once again when my Goldwing gets triked.

When I have a Harley itch which needs scratching I still own my 06 Ultra which I won't part with for all the tea in china.

I rode a CVO Ultra Classic and CVO Road Glide over the weekend. Both nice, but the RG has wind buffeting on my head. Guess I'm spoiled with the FLHTK and TriGlide windshields. Thanks for all the input from everyone.

Well, that is what he claims. The only purchase that he included that would not be part of the other issues was buying a 600 dollar GPS that had the HARLEY name on it that he could have purchased for about 200 AND he had his dealer install it for him which, or course, they raped him for.

Interesting how there are so many different view points. 8K is a drop in the bucket compared to what I have invested in my '11 TG. I love my TG and all my 2 wheeled buds hate it cuz nobody ever looks at or wants to talk about their bikes. The heat issue is solved, pleeenty of power, steers just fine, ride is no problem for me or my Sweet Babe on Back. It is a motorcycle,,, not a luxury car. Had it 2 years last week,,,25,000 happy fun miles and more on the way. Leaving this Fri to go down thru Yosemite...Napa Valley,, then the coast Hwy from San Fran all the way up to Long Beach Wa. Same trip we did last year. Cant wait...Sweet Rider is excited and anxious to go and loves puttin' in the miles on her Queen's Perch back there. That TG is the next to the most fun thing we do together {hee hee} and we have zero regrets. May even drop a 120R in it in the near future. I WOULD buy another one.

Funny you should mention this, I noticed the exact same thing when my dad and I would be out riding. Folks would walk right past my 06 Ultra just to comment on how nice his trike is or ask other questions.

Ditto wife and I when she had the trike and I was still on the Ultra. Get a zillion questions when we go out on both trikes now. We did the 'bling thing' on several motorcycles in our deep dark past. We have added a few comfort and convenience items to the trikes, but for the most part both trikes are relatively stock. We travel a lot and don't want to fool around with warranty questions if we have a problem in Utah. We are old now, so don't need to go faster than everyone else. Don't have to pull a trailer. I've ridden both trikes and honestly, they don't feel any hotter than my '08 Ultra felt. We don't have any problem keeping up with the group and if the trikes have to stay outside in the weather for a few days.... Oh Well.

Good luck with your new scoot, sorry the 3rd wheel didn't work out.
