thinking about a trike

I have had a few bikes over the years and sold my FLH in 05 due to a leg injury and the lack of 10k for a sidecar. Anyway I always liked my XL and have seen a few for sale cheap enough where I could build a trike on a budget. I see the frankenstein kits are very popular and I am sure there is a reason. But I can find little or no information on the SST or Cass County kits other than the web pagees. There is about a 2K difference in the three kits and that is enough to make me look. Anyone have any thoughts?

Don't know anything about the SST or Cass kits. From what I've read everyone who has the Frankenstein likes it. I'm sure you would really enjoy a trike. I've put more miles on my Ultra/Champion conversion in the past 15 months than I put on my last two, two wheelers, total!!!

Ive seen and done business with Ron at Cass County Choppers and his work is excellent. They are a member/sponsor here too. Shoot Ron a PM! ThumbUp

I would be glad to answer any questions you may have about our trike kits. We have been selling them for some time and had a really good reaction to them. We build and manufacture EVERYTHING right here in the good ole USA! Let me know if I can be of service to you in any way. You are always welcome to come by and check out our kits in person, we are located right outside of Kansas City, MO.

I have the SST kit on my bike and i had to fix the differential after the axle snapped inside of it what a nightmare it was. If i had to do buy one again i wouldnt buy it again. When i repaired it i had bought a 3/4 bolt from home depot just to get home from the beach and it worked better than the original aluminum bolt that was in it . Once home i had made some aluminum washers 1 in thick welded them to the differntial and used a stainless bolt with loctite and all problems resolved. The differentials are to thin of a base and stretched to where the shaft just breaks.

Stop thinking about it and order one from Ron .. I bet the 1st thing after your first long ride out of your mouth will be I should have bought this a long time ago

I absolutely LOVE the Frankenstein on my Dyna -- but I haven't ridden any other trikes so I am just as biased as the next person :D
We did the conversion ourselves, added the raked tree, and still got it all done in a weekend. Would have been done in a day but we got started late and then took a break for dinner with company. I have an album up of the build and you can contact me if you have any questions. The hardest part was the waiting! (But everyone will tell you that.)

ME TOO!! I have a frankenstein conversion on my vrod. No problems and all is good. I highly recommend Frankenstein..... curley
