Took my test ride today on a 2014 Spyder RT-S SM6 !! Liked it!!! Now just have to get them down a little on the price tag, they came down $2000 off of list but would like to get that down a little. Looking at a couple of extras, comfort seat to straigten my legs out a little and gps mount, already have the Zumo 660. Has any body got that price down more than $2000?

Hi. I rode a 13 and am wanting to ride a 14 with bigger motor and 6 speed. After I rode the 13 I bought a 13 Gold Wing Trike, but I do like the paddle shift transmission on them. Didn't like the high RPM and small motor on the 13. How long a ride did they let you have? I would like to take a 20-25 mile test ride over different roughness roads. Sorry I can't give you a price cut by dealer, but saw your thread and am watching to see what others have to say. bigred06

My test ride was a short ride and my wife was not allowed to go. We are now wanting to rent one for a day to make sure this is what we want. It is a big price tag and need to make sure before putting out that kind of money. I liked the ride even though it was short though. You bought a Gold Wing Trike?

I am glad to see that you are still considering the 14. Renting one for the day is a smart thing to do.I was considering a Gold Wing about six years ago and rented one and rode from Fl. to New Orleans and back and had it for three days.Did not buy the Gold Wing after the test ride.Rode my Concours for another two years and then bought a Victory.

Good luck with that, continue the thread and let us know how it all works out....

Good luck on your rental/long distance test ride. Remember adding floorboards really adds to the comfort issue. We put Web Boards on ours and I can easily ride 500 plus miles in a day with the stock seat and backrest, and sheepskin.

If you got them down $2000, that's damn good. I got $1850 off retail, and no freight+assembly another $600. Go for discounts on accessories. <img src="images/smilies/thumbup.gif" border="0" alt="" title="ThumbUp" class="inlineimg" /> Tom <img src="images/smilies/doorag smilie.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Doorag1" class="inlineimg" />

The price I got $24.599 is a 2014 Spyder RTS SM6 manual trans which I want. List is $26,599. I do have a better deal from where I am renting the bike on the 19th but may go back to the first place because they are supposed to have a great service department, and they are a half hour away from me. The bike I am renting is a 2013 RT Limited, they do not have any 2014's .
Can't wait!
Ride safe all

I rode the 13 RT and the 14 RT back to back, same day.to me there was no comparison.Remember the 14 will have more torque, less revs on the highway.I would only rent what I am considering buying.Just my thoughts.

The 14 is a very different machine than the 13. IF I was going to buy a Spyder (or any other machine) I'd definitely want to ride one exactly like what I was buying. If the dealer won't go along with that, it's time for a new dealer....

What bear said, wouldn't rent a 2013 to ride, I might ride the thing, but I'd be riding the 2014 for sure before I bought.

I did test ride a 2014 RT Limited but for a short couple mile ride up the road and back. Their are not many Can Am dealers in the northern new jersey area . The place I am renting from does not even let you test ride the bikes and they do not have any 2014 Spyder RT'S in stock to rent. So you all are saying I should not rent the 2013 ?? I know the 2014 and 2013 are different because of the new motor and 6 speed trans and I also want to buy the SM6 but I am being told that would have to be order or found as most are buying the Limited . I bassically wanted to rent to see if the trike itself was for us as far as being comfortable and if I liked they way it handled on different types of roads etc. Maybe I should just wait and rent one down in Virginia where we are vacationing and take it for a ride up on the Blue Ridge Parkway?
Confused

There are dealers south of you, i'm sure you can look them up. Also east coast cycles in PA has them. good luck on whatever you decide!ThumbUp

poppajim you are not far from Rusty Palmers in Honesdale PA.. Platinum dealer, top shelf service. Good people to deal with. They don't rent, and demo's are in their parking lot. Tom <img src="images/smilies/trike 1 smilie.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Trike1" class="inlineimg" />

Thanks Tom
I have already been in contact with Nick at Rusty's and they do not have any in stock. New or Used.
