Tanom Invader

I took a test drive in a Tanom Invader reverse trike in Daytona this year and absolutely loved it. I was wondering if anybody here has one and could give me info on maintenance, practicality and reliability.

As far as the test ride, it was much more stable and rode far better than both the Canam Spyder and the Polaris Slingshot. It had around 170 HP and all the go (and whoa) I wanted to handle. The price tag was in the $50k mark but it's only a little more than a new traditional trike and for my money was way more bang for the buck.

$29k Indian Roadmaster or HD Limited + $18k trike kit = $47k.
Tanom Invader = ~$50k

Looks like a lot of fun. For $50K though,I could buy a Boss Hoss trike with over 500hp.

My thoughts exactly until I looked at the costs of a new HD + kit. For example, new (bike & trike) the one in your profile picture is $46,000 painted, shipped, installed, minus taxes.

It's probably not 75HP.

I wasn't comparing a Tanom and Boss Hoss to our H-D trike,at all. The Tanom is powered by a Suzuki Hayabusa four of 170hp. The Boss Hoss I was referring to is powered by a 515hp LS3 V8. Both weigh around 1,500lbs. If you want cornering prowess, the Tanom is the obvious choice. For straight line performance, the new BH trikes are capable of very low 10sec 1/4 miles at around 140mph trap speeds.

If I were financially independent,I would own both.

I can purchase a two year old low mileage Wing and any trike kit for a lot less than $50K. No way, Jose. Besides, if I buy anything with a roof, windshield, etc. for that amount of money it's going to have four wheels and AC. :)

:Agree:

If i were financially independent, That would mean i would be Single :D But i'm glad some people can afford some of the new trikes coming out on the market, The more trikes that are out on the road' Will Benefit all of us.. I'll bet that someone who Never had a motorcycle 'And gets a Trike, Even when their in a car will notice Motorcycles, And be more courteous than before they got a Trike...
