I plan to remove parking brake on an 09 TriGlide. Jacking up each wheel on the tie down link, is it acceptable to support bike with jack stands on the axle/housing? All suggestions considered. thanks

In my 2015 Trike Owner's Manual (FLHTCUTG) Page 152, it states "Lift against the forgings where the down tubes and lower frame tubes join."

It also mentions the steel tie down links (Page 200) but for trying down a trike to a trailer (or drive-on table jack) It doesn't mention lifting your trike by the outside axle housing steel loops :AGGHH: I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but the MoCo-preferred jack points aren't at the steel loops

Just my 2¢...

jack stands sit neatly under the frame, axle and swing arm fully accessible.
Weight is off the chain hoist. If the rear wheels were on it, it would be a balance point and I could lift the whole machine off the ground with the hoist.

In the 2014 TG manual it says-

..."each rear wheel can be raised by placing a jack under the left or right side of the axle."

Not sure if that is in the 2015 manual or not.

One thing is sure, NEVER lift the rear of the TG under the "differential housing".
