Sticky Grips

A few years back I had new handle bars installed and new grips.
The grips had a sticky feel that I really liked, but now they are slick.

Anyone know how to bring that sticky grip back or do I have to buy new grips ?

Mine started out sticky and over time, a little over three years and100,000 miles they are starting to feel slick. I may have to replace them, I like the sticky feel, it lets me feel more connected to the Trike.

shot in the dark here. Wash them with hot soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.

Then use a hair dyer/heat gun to gently warm them up. (They've been hot before sitting in the sun) Maybe the heat will release some chemical that originally made them sticky. You said you would probably replace them anyway so what do you have to lose?

Sounds like an idea that is worth trying.

Thanks
