Here's the problem, I'm 5' 8" and weight 185. I have NO Butt! I need a good seat that will hold me in place. I keep slideing forward on the OMB seat. I purchased a "custom" Hartco seat and it would not fit the trike correctly, and rubbed the paint off on my fuel tank. They did adjust the leg area of the seat for me, but it still just wasn't the right seat. I am now trying the Ultimate Midrider, but it raises me about an inch and gives me an insecure feeling when flying down the highway. Is there a perfect seat out there for a guy like me??

Lots of seat manufacturers out there, some like one, some another. What sets these folks apart is the very small number of people who are not satisfied. They ask for pictures of you sitting on your bike, you can talk to them about specific needs. If you don't like the seat, they'll redo it (twice), the, if you still don't like it, supposedly give you a refund. The supposedly is because I've never heard to that event occurring.

BIKE SOLUTIONS
Home

In 2002 I decided to go with Bike Solutions. They had just started the company and I was one of their first customers. Matter of fact, the modification was done in the garage at one of the owners home. After 119,000 miles, I think it is the best bang for the buck for the GL1800 seat.

On my other two bikes I have Russell Seats. They are a great product, but duck when you see the cost of a Goldwing seat.

go CHEAP FIRST, I have a WALLYWORLD car gel pad from the auto dept with an alaskan sheep skin on top, 25k on that arrangement and it works like a charm, I am not a guru on this, it has been talked to death on other trike web sites and most everyone agrees the 19.99 pad is better than a new seat or expensive pads, check it out first as it works for so many folks that it might for you as well.

P.S.
riding friend with a honda st1300 started using one and it saved him 500 bucks not having to buy a new seat!

I have the Mall-mart gel pad. It's a great bang for the buck deal, but no way does it come close to a good custom seat like a Russell.

I quite agree anyone should try the gel pad first. If it's all they need, great. If not, there is (much) better.

I have a gl1800 2 wheel and trike.
Got the 2 wheel version first. Being only 5'7" I had to do some things to make it work for me. Seat height was the problem. With the trike the seat problem is not a issue. There are several ways to help with your problem. 2 things you can try before spending too much money. I agree a seat gel pad or a lambs cover. I have a lambs cover I put on my 2 wheel version but it raised around 1/2 inch. i am going to try it on my trike soon. I like it, seat never got hot but will interfere with the heat in the seat. Russel day long is a 1 of the best seats going but they do raise you because of the springs in the seat. Even a gel pad will raise you a inch. I would also consider have you stock seat modified. If you have the heated seat your choices will be narrowed down. However, I would consider a back rest for your stock seat this will help keep you in place plus give you good support.
What do you clean your seat with? If your using armor all that's your problem or at least adding to it.
Just a thought
