Anyone going to Rolling Thunder???

I'll be there as usual - weather looking good - a little cool leaving Chicago tomorrow morning though.

Not this year, first not going in a long time. Usually stay at courtyard in fair fax oaks always ride in with Patriot Hd. They do a great job. Got lost or left 2 years in a row by ft Washington hd. See you next year

Did you see me? I have a beard and wore a black t-shirt. :D :D

I was parked right next to R. Lee Ermey. What a great guy (even if he rides a Victory - :D). ThumbUp

I was there! Rode into the Pentagon with the Ride of the Patriots from Patriot HD in Faifax,Va. Aside from the 5 hour wait in the blazing hot sun in the Pentagon south lot for the ride to begin, I had a blast!

I learned my lesson on my first parade years ago. Bring an umbrella - works like a charm. Years ago I was the only one with an umbrella - this year there were a lot of them. :D

I didn't see the fire truck this year - was it there somewhere else? Did you see it? It was fun walking under the water spray in the 90* heat.

I was about 30yards away from it in the South lot over near the food vendor, registration and the porta-johns. Lotsa people were availing themselves of it.

The guy behind me had a very large umbrella attached to his bike. I have to figure a way to do that to mine so I don't have to keep holding it - gets tiring after awhile, but, hey! I'm cool. :D

Sure missed the fire truck this year.

Would have LOVED to go. BUT I learned a long time ago with my 1st Harley. We ain't cut out for parades ! To damn HOT and also TOO HARD on my Bike. Its bad enough in Sturgis just getting around in that Heat & traffic ! ThumbUp

Rolling Thunder Parade NOTHING like Sturgis. This has to be the best organized parade ever.
Once you leave the parking lot you're moving non stop anywhere from 10mph to 30mph and no idling. No problems.

In all the years I've gone there, I've never had a heat problem. My BIGGEST GRIP is the %$#@ street conditions. Washington has the worst streets in the nation. They take all our money so why aren't their streets the best in the world? They've been like that for years. :gah:

Don't get me started on traffic patterns and direction signs. :AGGHH:

The best view of DC is in your rear view mirror. :pepper:
