Riding pants or chaps for cold weather

I use felt lined jeans' But if i'm going to ride for more than an hour and the temps are under 20 i'll throw on over my jeans a set of Carhartt overall's... ThumbUp

When it's cold I wear silk long johns under a pair of jeans and chaps. That way I can take the chaps off when I stop to eat, go into a shop or whatever. Used to wear leather pants but one time I forgot I didn't have anything else on and took off the leather pants....lot of upset people in the restaurant.

Hummmm.....I bet you get quite a reaction walking in wearing silk long johns too?!?!?:cxtv::laugh::cxtv:

We get big temperature swings during a day. Starts out in the 30's and ends up in the 60's. I dress in layers that can be shed as the day goes on. Leather chaps over the top of Cabela's lined jeans works for me.

For years I would layer up, including long johns, jeans and chaps.

When I started using a heated jacket liner a few years ago, I no longer found the need for chaps. I still wear long johns and kevlar lined jeans. But by keeping my torso, arms and neck toasty warm, I've found that my legs stay warm too, even down in the 20's, which I ride in quite a bit.

I have found that Under Armour long johns make it real comfortable under a pair if jeans even with temps in the 30s, and they don't make you sweat if it warms up. Here in FL we haven't had to deal with colder than that.
