Rider Education For Trike Riders?

I have many books, articles, & video including the "Ride Like A Pro" series for education riding on two wheels, but where does one go for trike info? Our 1800 Wing will be converted to three wheels this winter. I try to find what I can on the boards, and I am gratefull for those that post pointers, but I would like to find something in print. Or do we pretty much learn by trial and error? Thanks for any help!

The MSF has put out this information about riding on 3 wheels. You might find some of the information and exercises helpful. Quality seat time is probably the best teacher.

Do you belong to GWRRA?

If you do not belong you might want to think about joining,a good orgnization.

I could not find an organization to teach me to ride. My bike has a trike kit, but rides like. 2 wheeler. Neither 2 or 3 wheel class wanted me. I taught myself to ride a motorcycle, use the Ghost Wheels, and electronic shifting. It was...entertaining. I will post my adventures.

I am GWRRA, Wi-X. I am also our chapters Rider Ed person, thus my interest in finding rider ed material. Unfortunately here in Wi. we no longer have ERC OR TRC certified instructors. Our current District Rider Ed director is working toward certification, but it will be at least 2013. We may be able to work something out with Ill. But as for now I'm looking for written material.

Some of this video may be tedious, but overall, it's pretty good.

This is the one course that seems to me to be the most established.

Biggest advice. Start slow, in a large parking lot. Don't underestimate how hard it will be to stop your unconscious brain from forcing out its two wheel training. I found it amazingly hard to stop trying to put my feet down, even though I had heard it was an issue.

I heard a story about a guy who had a conversion done hundreds of miles from home. He flew out and picked up the trike. A few hundred feet down the road he stopped, walked back, and asked for it to be delivered.

I believe it. It took me about 1000 miles to stop having to just focus hard on things like not countersteering, and start to enjoy the ride.
