Removing Seat VTX1800 W/Champion Kit

Is it really necessary for the driver seat be secured/bolted front and rear? Sure is hard/aggravating to remove.

I was thinking about doing the seat pull pin mod on rear seat bolts and removing the front catch. That way it is still secure, but can pull pins, lift up front of seat and remove. Be nice to remover driver's seat without having to remove rear seat 1st.
