My personal observation over the last five years is the following activity trend pattern:

The months of November, December, January and February are the peak activity months for on line viewers, both members and guests. Typically the majority of the increase is from guest activity.

I do not know how many are just browsing or are bots but it sure is a big increase.

I think you might be getting more as people RUN from the folks at VerticalScope that control almost all forums now. I might be wrong but I don't think people care too much for the way they run their forums.
