Have been smelling leaking oil. The dealership stated that the oil smell is from a leaking shock. The trike has 9200 miles, is 21/2 years old. Has NEVER had the rear shocks over..or underpressurized. This is the third or fourth time in for oil smell. Could the rear shock leak oil on the exhaust? Also, the original price was $400. I am now ONLY paying $20 for overnight freight for the shock as a customer service to me...am I getting a $20 screwing with no kiss?

Yes, the shock can leak on the exhaust. I would want to know where the shock is leaking. Is it a seal or is it up by the air valve. Regarding the $20 bucks shipping. What it worth to you to get the shock right away and be up and running as soon as you change it out?

With only 9200 miles and being in for the 3rd or 4th time...for the same problem....and my original warranty gone...and supposedly sold a front to rear full coverage warranty...$20.... I just want to ride...

I had other things leak but not the shocks when I had them on before I went to the air bag system..

Just got a pair of Progressive rear air shocks because my right rear shock blew a seal and leaked oil. Raised the boot up and all kinds of oil everywhere! bike has 11,000 miles and never had the shocks over 30lbs. Hopefully the Progressive shocks will hold up to the Michigan roads better!!.....:GL1800:
