Ray Monroe

I got the answering machine and not only asked him to call me back but to let the folks on Triketalk.com that he is still out there and hopefully doing well!

Spoke with Ray today and he is doing fine. He said he would get back on the site to say hello and thank everyone for their concern. He is staying busy, still rides his Stallion and his 3 wheel recumbent bicycle. He was actually out riding the bicycle and had stopped at a shady spot to call me back today.

Scott, Jerry(s), Tom, B dog, et al:

Hi Folks,
Things have changed a bit for me. Some of you know that my mom lives with me and she recently turned 94. She is in the primary stage of dementia. She hears things that are not real and makes up stories thinking they are true. This is probably not going to get better and I sometimes struggle to keep her tuned in.

I play dominos with her every day (she beats my butt most of the time; I keep score ;). I try to get her to talk about her childhood and she is in he glory relating those stories. The thing is, she tells the same things over and over- sometimes in the same two minutes. She is the finest person I know and it breaks my heart to see how she has declined. However, it is my turn to deal with these issues and to that end have had to keep a more vigilant watch on this beautiful woman. I still take her out to eat and I have a lady who comes 3x a week to assist with household chores.

I will check in on this forum more often than in the past. There are LOTS of you that I consider as friends. Thank you all, for your concern.and well wishes. I don't take them lightly.
Keep the Light shining in you soul,
Ray
