Pingel Shifter

Does anybody know if you can used a pingel shifter with a digital (tells what gear you r in). I read that it will not work good

I would think it would work as the shifter does the same as your foot. The shift indicator reads off the data link which I assume is tied to the ECM or some such thing. The coil interrupt shouldn't affect it.
