Pin Stripes

I should get my newly converted trike this weekend. I would really like to have some pinstriping done on the rear fenders and trunk but have not been able to find anyone capable of doing so in my area. I have found quite a few on-line stores selling vinyl pinstriping. Has anyone used these?
They all state that they can be easily removed without leaving any marks, however, not sure about what they would do on a fresh paint job. Since the trike is one color only, I would like to break up the color with some kind of accent. Anyone used the vinyl decals with success?

I would not use anything until paint has completely cured which can take several weeks.

Vinyl can be removed but the paint under it will not fade at the same rate as the bare paint so it will leave marks. I don't know what it will do it clear coated.

Personally, I have not had total luck using vinyl decals. I just installed some graphic decals on my old cargo trailer and it looks great from 10' away but up close you will see a wringkle or two and a few small air bubbles I could not remove. Still, a lot cheaper than new paint job and it will get the job done. :)

Let the paint well cure before doing anything to it. Be very careful washing it, by hand with the softest cloth and mildest car wash soap yo can get. No wax or polish until the paint is cured. If there are good size car or bike shows in your araa there will almost always be a pinstriper or two, and that lets you check out their work in person. Ask around at local body shops - they may have a line on a good stripeer.

Pro paint 2k would be baked at 140 degrees. Thats it its done, do whatever you want won't get any better.

Mountain Man did ours .....and has updated it and touched it up a few times ..... but he's no where near you.

There are several in our group that have had excellent results going to the places where the Big Rig drivers go ..... might check around truck stops or body shops for referrals?

Good idea! The largest truck stop in the states is just across the river from me.

Thanks for all the great advice guys. Think I'll make a trip to Iowa 80 Truckstop this weekend. It's the largest in the U.S. so should find some good leads.
