15 Freewheeler. Want to set it up for my girlfriend so that she can charge her phone while riding but she would like to put it in the trunk. I am not that verse in these trikes so wondering how to go about it. Is there a power source to tap into or is there a kit to buy to make it a cleaner install? Thanks.

Easy. Choose a fused 12V automotive power outlet with USB port if desired, and crimp ring terminals to the leads and attach directly to the battery. Theres a diamond shaped plastic boss at upper back of trunk you can drill and run the cable through. You can use velcro to attach to the trunk liner. It will always be hot so she can charge with bike off.

I bought this guy for $16 and put a "Y" splitter on my accessory cable that's tucked under the left side panel. Took off the access plate in the trunk and notched out a hole big enough for the wire to pass through and velcro'ed the unit to the carpet out of the way. It's been there for a year and works great. Lots of choices for not much money out there.

Buy her a portable jump starter.

She can use it to charge her phone or jump start the bike if the battery dies.

No wiring required, just remember to take it out every 2-3 months to refresh the charge.

I have the one that’s in the link below.

I have a calendar reminder on my phone for every three months to recharge it.

However even after 3 months it appears to still have a full charge.

I’ve seen this one mentioned a lot but there are cheaper and more expensive ones out there.

I like Blueraven Idea but on my 2014 Tri I put a charger from the auto parts store in the tour pack with a 12v plug and two USB plugs. we used both USB plugs often but never used the 12v plug but it was there if I needed it. Maybe if I used my NOCO for a charger also I would remember to put it in the bike more often. :D

I might suggest something like this. I use this to charge my Cardo Pack Talk in case I neglect to charge overnight in the hotel. Youcan find this on Amazon for less than $15. Plugs right into your tender connection.
