Passenger foot getting hot on RS trike

My wifes feet seem to be getting hotter on the RS than they were on the Lehman trike. Has anyone else run across this?

I will say that on our RS kit there are more gaps between the running boards and the mc itself than there was on the Lehman kit and this space might be allowing the heat of the engine to sort of back draft up around the pass foot rests....

I did break down and get some passenger highway pegs that will get her feet out away from the bike more and give her some stretcg out room..

Part of this could also have something to do with the record breaking heat that we have been having around her too BUT even before this last heat wave she was commenting on the amount of heat that she was feeling on her feet.

Anyone else running across this oddity?

Looking at my Motor Trike setup.
The rear passengers feet, if I had one might get a bit toasty.
The exhaust pipe chrome covers are a bit exposed there.
Might be similar to yours.
Maybe some sort of exhaust shield tape wrap might be in order.

Install a full set of the Baker Air Wings; uppers, middle, and trike wing lowers. You will be amazed how well it manages air flow. The trike wings really help the lower air flow by pushing it out and away from bike.

I agree that the Air Wings push outside air out and away from te bike but outside air comming into the ridder compartment is better on super hot days than no allowing air flow.. Plus its a more concentrated heat around the foot area than anywhere else.

Yes that is the closest place to the exhaust pipes and the air may be coming up from underneath over the pipes and over the pass feet. Were the air coming from the outside and downward over the pass feet then that would help keep the feet area less hot.

Just from my better half, on my Lehman she has no heat problem. But mine is considerably older and the passenger footrest is homemade. It is a lot bigger than any on the market.

I agree with mhgoldwind.
I have the Aqua Shields , all the Baker Wind Wings and Kury passenger transformer boards for my wife
No problem with the heat on our Champion.

We've got a Roadsmith with the factory running boards...No heat problem for wife. with that said, we always ride in full gear, so she is wearing riding boots all the time. That might make a difference.

It may not apply but the solid belly pans allow more engine heat to come out between body panels and other small hole. ( check your shifter boot area - hot!) anyhow there is a better belly pan that is louvered to extract heat and improve sending heat down and under bike. Just my 2 cent thought on the subject of heat issues
