Papa Zook Rake Kit on my RG3

Thank you Gary, I'm glad you like it!
I HAD the rake done a couple yrs ago after shoulder surgery. On the way to Zook's,
I could only do a bit over 200-250 miles at a time ... when we left Zook's I was doing 400 miles at a time.. Thanks again Randy.. by far the BEST upgrade for me.

Papa Zook - my CSC has an 11 deg rake and I love it. Got a few friends here that have the RG3 and the TriGlide - some took a short ride on my trike and loved the steering.

Since you have installed the CSC rake and are very familiar with such, how might you compare the RG3 and TriGlide ride after your kit is installed.

You might also recall that I gave a Wing rider your info - curious if he reached out to you?

So that I can share, what is the cost of your kit - and how long might it take someone that is familiar with this to install it?

Thanks

Sorry, I’m a bit confused on the Rake kits being sold and was wondering Papa if you could clear that up?

What is the factory rake on the Harley’s? Are the 2 wheel bikes (Ultra Limited and RG’s) different than the TriGlides? ie UL/RG 3 degrees, Trike 4 degrees for example? If there is a difference, is it in the headset welded to the frame and the frames are different between a 2 wheel versus 3 wheel Harley?

When you buy a kit and it says it’s a 6 degree kit, is that 6 degrees total or +6 to be added to what the bike was originally? ie a trike would be 10 degrees total with a +6 degree kit?

Cycle7447 says he has a 11 degree with his CSC, does that mean he has a +7 degree kit? Or if your kit is really 6 degrees and he has an 11 degree, wouldn’t that almost be chopper like and require extra long fork extensions to sit level?

On my Roadsmith rake kit, I couldn’t find what degree it was. When I googled it, the only thing I could find was someone saying they thought Honda’s were 4 degree and HD’s were 6.

Stock Specs on 2020 Harley Ultra/2020 Harley TriGlide :
2020 Harley Ultra 114 (bike): Frame Rake: 26 degrees / Trail: 170mm / 6.7in
2020 Harley TriGlide 114 (trike): Frame Rank: 26 degrees / Trail: 100mm / 3.94in
Harley increased the rake from 29.25 degrees (bike+triple trees) to 32.00 degrees (triglide trike+triple trees) a less than adequate increase of just 2.75 degrees.

It means that his CSC Rake kit is an 8 degree or +3 over stock
CSC until recently listed their Harley rake kit as an 8 degree. LINK
Our Rake kit is a 9 degree or +5 over stock.

Honda VS Harley Rake Kit Designation:

What further adds to the confusion is this, when discussing rake kits for Honda Goldwing trikes, ALL Honda Goldwings have the Same Factory Base Degree of Rake built into the frame, so there is no need to worry about a Base Frame Rake + 3 + 4 or etc, you simply have a 4 Degree Rake, a 6 Degree Rake, ect.
Whereas the Harley Touring Bikes vary from Model to Model and Year to Year in what the Factory Base Frame Rake is. Example a 2021 Ultra LTD has a Factory Base Frame Rake of 26 Degrees, a 2020 Softail DLX has a Factory Base Frame Rake of 30 Degrees, and a 2017 Heritage Softail has a Factory Base Frame Rake of 31 Degrees.

Randy, does the triple tree for the FLRT have the bosses for mounting the nacelle tins? The photo on your web site looks to me they don't
Also, same question regarding the steering damper.

Yes on the tins, no on the steering dampener. Adding back a steering dampener is not needed or recommended.

Had my first chance to test out my RG3 with my new Papa Zook rake kit. Boy what a difference. Steers like a whole different animal. Should have installed it a long time ago. Works fantastic. Don't understand why harley doesn't install a rake kit in all their new trikes. Thank you very much Papa Zook.
Hey Sea Sick
What kind of trike are you riding on tri or free
