pa-63 9x18 barrel came apart

I was out side with my hand gun, a 9mm makarov look a like made in hungary feg kbi pa-63.when i got the gun I was told that it was a makarov the only thing that its like is it uses the same cartridges as the makarov, well to make a long story short, when i fired the gun it jam would not move. I remove the mag and made sure that chamber was empty. looking at the front of the barrel was a spit at the top. and would not let the slide come back to rechamber a new round. thank you up thare. god. know telling what would have happen if it would have fired that round. AND YES I HAD THE WRIGHT CARTRIDGE.

road rider, like you said the frist shell that fired was bad.and the next shell hit it. lucky it shot it out. it look like i well be using my junk pistol as a stand by. tell i save up some cash . i hate to say the name of it,but hear go,smodel j.a.nine 9mm

That pistol is a good one, though I guess it would be hard to convince anyone who had that experience! The new barrels are cheap, and you could fix it. I have a PA63 and a P-64 (all steel). Both are service weapons, and the PA-63 has a broken spring currently out of stock. It sounds like the first round did indeed get lodged in the barrel and the next one fractured the barrel. That is the fault of the ammo. (cheap? too much oil on the gun leaked into the cartridge?) I have had misfires from "wolf" brand ammo, and ANY aluminum cartridge is junk in my opinion. Glad you were not injured! My son bought a brand new S&W 22 cal semi-auto rifle, and it was firing FULL AUTO right out of the box!!!!! He was elated.... until it blew up in his face! He was unharmed, and sent the thing back to S&W, they fixed about 4 problems, and told him it was the cheap ammo that started the issues. Good luck with the 9x18. They really were the poormans PPK! jimsjinx
