Asking everyone's opinion about oils in a VW trike--1600 single port.

Please answer these questions:

1--What brand and weight oil do you use?

2--What type of oil filter?

3--What about synthetic oils?

Thanks in advance.

I have a 1915 cc vw and I use

amsoil 20-50 automotive oil , Not m/c oil
it will stand the added heat up to 400 degrees without any break down

for a filter I use a wix filter , and with this combination I can run all one season
with no other changes (the oil is good for 15,000 miles , per mfgr)

i use castrol gtx20w50, but a manual i have for a ~'66 suggest sae 30, still i use the castrol
both my trikes have screen filters so i just ride em around to warm the oil, pull the plugs center plugs (so they are both pre mid '70s) drain, pull the perimeter bolts, clean it all, scrapt the 2 old gaskets off (not to scratch) and replace i follw the slow app of tightening accross the plate procedure to tighten

the sump plate on my harley-goldwing-yammaha-vw trike is not perfectly flat, so i made extra gaskets out of high temp paper and use 3 instead of the usual 2... works ok...but i live in bama
keep the faith
