oil temp senser

I had a set of Dakota Digita gauges installed on my 2014 trike. it came with a temp senser that was put in the bottom of the oil pan. I ride to work almost every day, with an area of bad roads that there is no way around. I am having a Legend Air Suspension system put on. in order to get the pump in the frame rails, the oil temp senser had to be removed.
Does anyone know if there is an alternative place to get the oil temp from. is there a senser that can be placed in the oil level hole or somewhere.
seems a shame to lose that gauge.

Sorry, think you just lost your sensor... There is no other place for it to fit as far as I know.

When I installed mine they told me it was the only place it would fit. Your only option now is a digital temp dip stick.

I installed the SE extra capacity oil pan on my 2013 Trike while re-building my 120r motor and the sensor would not work in the hole that it was in in the OEM oil pan, so we came off of the oil filter adapter with a MFF (male/female/female) brass "T" fitting on one of the oil lines into/out of the filter and installed the sensor in this new fitting and all is well!! There is no thing as "it can't be done"!!

I think I would have found a much better place to put the air compressor. Down there it is in all the dirt, grease/oil from everything including the pavement, water, & whatever else gets thrown at it from the front wheel.

That might be the only place to put it on a 2 wheel, but you also have a trunk with the Trike........
JMHO......

Sloufoot, regarding the debris coming off the front tire, I installed a mud flap (about 3/4 to 1" off pavement) to my front fender trim (fancy bar/shield accessory trim) and it keep my oil cooler veins clean as a whistle. Works very will on Ultra 2 wheelers as well.

LOL ! I also put a flap on my front fender. Now I need to install a fan on my oil cooler because the mud flap works so well keeping the mud, gravel, & wind from the front tire away from the cooler......
But that said,,,, I would still find a better place for an air compressor. Like the trunk ?
