Was checking out the triglide today, pulled the data port connector, damm, instead of 6 pins I have 5, I'm missing one, guess I'm going to harley Tues since they are closed tomorrow. This is my first used bike and it will be my last, always have bought new, this one had only 3,200 miles on it, have had at least 20 bikes and all new, figured this one since it was 2016 and low miles I would be good to go, guess not. Not sure if previous owner did this or harley when checking it out to put on show room floor.

Learned my lesson

Trampas, the connector itself, the housing so to speak, is called a 6 pin connector. However not all cables that plug in using the 6 pin connector use all 6 pins. I am almost positive my 16 TGU data connector is only using 5 pins. I know some of the items that use a 6 pin type connection only have 2 or 3 of the 6 pins used. I might be wrong, but I don't think you have a problem. I just went and looked at mine and the male 6 pin data connector only uses 5 pins. Hope I am not misleading you.

I think it needs to be 6 pins for the Power Vision or the FP3, at least what I have read. Seen pics and videos online for installing these and need the 6 pin for them to work, now I could be wrong, maybe the dealer will verify this or not. I know that one video for power vision showed all 6 pins on the connector before plugging in the power vision, that is why I was checking this out to see where it is and looks like, wasn't to happy when I only seen 5 pins.

Thanks for the replies so far

Well, I guess you can check with your dealer and the people you bought your PV Tuner from. I have a PV Auto Tune Wide Band kit on my tri-glide and the data connector cable that comes in the kit is plugged into my data connector at this time, and it works fine. Good Luck with it, but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

MDF48, thank you for explaining, I was pretty mad since I bought it used, not sure if the previous owner did it or harley but sounds like yours is the same as mine but will check with dealer for the sake of my mind what is left at this age. Just seen videos on install of both products and it showed 6 pins, not sure why all of them don't have them and some don't, go figure Harley

According to the 2014 Electrical Diagrams Pins 1,2,3,5,6 are used. So 5 pins is correct!

Update, thanks for the replies, everyone is correct only 5 pins, not sure why some harley's have 6 and some with 5. Dealer said it will work plugging in a FP3 or power visison.

Guess I should have taken the advice here, quite a bit of information on here, just a peace of mind so to speak from the dealer, and thank all of you
